he nodded and smiled. “are your deaf too? i can start signing if you need.”

He blinked and shook his head, signing out carefully, "Not deaf, just nonverbal. My doctor says I'm 'selectively mute'. I don't talk much unless I know you well."

[dannychan]

he nodded. “ah, well that’s alright.” he said and looked around once rebecca asked him something about going to a sleepover with the others. “oh, uh.. we gotta ask mom..” he said.

[peridot.]

Ferb blinked and smiled softly, signing to the other, "Okay. It's fine if you can't, we just wanted to ask."

seth smiled and watched rebecca rush off to ask their mother. seth looked to ferb. “so.. i hate to be rude but.. are you guys adopted? you look nothing alike.”

Ferb blinked and smiled, laughing very very softly as he signed, "We're step-brothers."

he hummed. “ohh ok! that makes sense!” he said and smiled when rebecca yelled that they could. he seemed to brighten.

Ferb smiled and clapped a bit, signing cheerfully, "Yay, I can't wait to learn more about you."

he smiled. “my dad is deaf, so we sign a lot. and rebecca is dead in one ear.” he said.

Ferb smiled brightly and signed, very clearly pleased, "Ah, well, it's nice to meet someone who signs and knows sign language."
