The bird chirped softly, watching him. After a minute, the two others wandered over as well, watching them curiously.

he gently pet the baby bird before slowly and gently picking it up.

The bird chirped, a bit startled but then relaxed, settling into his arms. The two others, probably the parents of the chocobo, watching them. Noctis blinked, looking them over before glancing at Prompto. “They’re being surprisingly calm around us being wild animals and all.” He said

he smiled, nodding. “it’s nice~” he said softly.

He nodded. “It is, but also kind of concerning. Not all people would leave these birds unharmed. There’s those out there that actually hunt these creatures. If they’re this friendly to us, they might not recognize a hunter or something as a threat.” He said

he frowned. “you should pass a law protecting them.” he stated.

Noctis was silent for a moment. “There’s already laws in place. There’s some sanctuaries being built as well to protect them since they’re endangered. But even still you know there’s still people out there that would hurt them.” He said, gently patting one of the chocobos.

he frowned. “then make it a murder, deeper sentence, you know?”

He blinked, looking at Prompto. “I would Prompto. But, the king is dead, remember? That’s the only way the empire would leave everyone alone. If I reveal to the world that I’m alive again, that could cause some trouble. And besides, I’ve seen how people have been doing without me. Aside from you three, not much has changed with the citizens. They don’t need a king ruling them. This city has been doing just fine without my leadership.” Noctis said

he looked down. “no one in the kingdom knows your dead. i’ve been operating the kingdom because cor said ‘as noctis’s suitor, it is your responsibility to take the throne’.. and i don’t want to do it anymore noct..”
