he sighed. “yeah, me neither.” he muttered.

Nines blinked and said, frowning a bit as he looked his partner over, "You aren't? Do you not have a particularly positive relationship with your family...?"

[dannychan]

he blinked. “i’d really would rather talk about anything else.” he stated, shaking his head.

[peridot.]

Nines' LED seemed to spin yellow for a moment, before he seemed to look a bit sheepish, saying softly, "I apologize if I made you uncomfortable. Connor has been trying to teach ms what humans consider approachable topics of conversation."

[dannychan]

he smiled softly and nudged him with his elbow. “it’s ok. i just don’t wanna talk about them.” he said.

[peridot.]

Nines blinked as he was nudged, and he smiled the faintest of smiles, giving a little nod, "Alright then. How about... Did I tell you about the gifts that Hank and Connor gave me?"

[dannychan]

he hummed. “no, no you did not!” he said brightly. on the inside, he knew whoever was his secret santa hadn’t actually gotten him anything. he glanced at his shoes, looking at the light reflection in them for a moment.

[peridot.]

Nines said  softly, looking the other male over curiously, "Well... Connor got me some new casual clothing, since he said that it seemed very uncomfortable for me to be in my cyberlife uniform all hours of the day. And Hank got me..." He reached into his pocket, pulling out the colorful pocket knife and holding it up in the light, "He got me this. I enjoy using it for concentration."

[dannychan]

he paused. “depends on the family, i guess.” he said thoughtfully. “i know hank and connor are excited to have less work hours.” he said.

[peridot.]

"Well yes, of course. Hank and Connor enjoy each other's company immensely." Nines said, before a small frown came to his face, "But I must admit, I am not very much looking forward to having a break from work.."
