after a while, sirius walked in and looked around. he smiled slightly when he spotted the male and waved slightly, trying to get his attention.

nikolai couldn't help but glance at the door of the small pub every few minutes, smiling when he spotted the other waving. he waved back to show he'd seen him, and excused himself from his table before walking over. "where do you wanna sit?" he asked, because while sirius could join him and his other friends, they weren't particularly fond of gryffindors.

he would glance around before finally finding a corner table. “i’ve there?” he suggested, tilting his friends. “but if you’re with friends, we can sit with them.”

nikolai instantly shook his head at the suggestion. "that wouldn't be the best idea," he admitted, already sensing their looks from across the room. he motioned to the table sirius had picked out. "that one's fine. i can buy your drink, if you were planning on getting something. since you bought the candy," nikolai offered.

sirius glanced over at the friends, meeting one of their stares with his own intense and slightly unsettling stare. he would nod and then move to sit down. "im not letting you pay for my drink." he said, a bright and warm smile breaking out across his face.

nikolai watched as sirius meet his friend's gaze and he wasn't sure why it actually made his heart skip a beat, but he chose to ignore it for now. he sat down across from him, shooting him a scowl at his words. "eh? why not? you paid for the other stuff," he huffed.

he nodded- he knew he had payed for the other stuff, but.. he didn't like letting others pay for his things. he had money, and he wouldn't even let his friend with more money pay for things he wanted. "well, because i don't like it when people pay for things when i have more than enough to pay for myself." he said, sounding ever so slightly annoyed.

the slytherin gave him an unsatisfied look, but sighed. "you're stubborn," he remarked, resting his chin in his hand. "so, is it normal for you ask to hang out with the guy that tries to get you in detention?" nikolai asked because he was genuinely curious.

another smile came across his face and he would shook his head. “no. you’re the first one.” he said and folded his hands in front of him on the table.

as he was leaving, nikolai spotted the guys he assumed were sirius' friends, especially since james already looked familiar, but he was headed in the opposite direction. he stopped by a few other stores, not really buying anything and mostly just looking, before meeting up with his own friends at the three broomsticks.
