he smiled slightly. “it’s secret santa, you don’t have to get everyone gifts.” he said.

"I know, but Hank and Connor are the closest thing I have to family, aside from you. It felt rude not to get them gifts." Nines explained, frowning.

he blinked and hesitated. “what..?” he asked.

Nines blinked and said, tilting his head to one side and saying softly, "What do you mean, what? I believe what I said was fairly straightforward.."
