Cat pulled away from Louie and turned towards Addy, crossing their arms. "My brother. Sort of. After I ran away from home, his family was the one that took me in." That was maybe more information than they should let on, but the clues were already out there that they had run away. Or at least, that information would make other things make more sense. Like how they had been separated, and how they had turned out the way they had when their mother was, well, Molly.

They raised an eyebrow when he asked if he could call them Scott. "My family calls me Scott. And Creed, but she might as well be family." She was their best friend, and she understood what they were going through with their name and identity. "If you wanna call me that so badly, you could take a bullet for me, I guess." They shrugged.

⇥ Catalyst is 6'2" tall; they possess a lean and muscular body, one that has a variety of old scars adorning it. One of the easiest to notice is one that stretches down their right cheek. While not a scar, one very notable marking on their chest is the "BL" brand. They have two piercings, one in their tongue and the other in the cartilage of their left ear. They typically dress in dark colors (favoring jackets with some sort of writing on the back), and their hair is black. They're not all dark, however, as they have pale blue eyes that peer out from beneath medium-sized eyebrows.

— their brother, sort of? it was enough for addy to furrow his brows, feeling almost unconvinced by that explanation. but you know, if it was a good enough reason for cat to hug the person, then he’d have to believe them. who would make up that shit, anyway? it wasn’t really any of his business how the hell catalyst knew them, or why they were here; he just wanted to know who the hell they were so long as they didn’t pose any threat to the badlands. and just by looking at him… he felt like it was safe to say that this guy didn’t really mean much of a threat.

where the hell did the name ‘catalyst’ even come from? addy was short for his real name - that he’ll never, ever speak about - but catalyst and scott… where the fuck did those two match up? he couldn’t help but huff a slight breath - not sounding very amused, but still out of amusement nonetheless - at the answer he got. “yeah, yeah, we’ll see about that.” addy didn’t take bullets for just anyone, y’know.

he glanced between the newcomer and cat. “so he’s staying here?” might as well make that clear.

The whole familial situation with Louie was complicated and messy. His father had taken them in and been the sole father figure they had, but he turned them into a god and then they had killed him. Their relationship had become that of god and follower before it could ever truly be brotherly, yet that's what they both had wanted all alone. If he could somehow forgive them for killing Derick, perhaps this was the chance they'd been waiting for.

They huffed goodnaturedly and rolled their eyes. "I'm sure you'll have the opportunity." It didn't seem likely that people would stop trying to shoot them any time soon. How many Insurrectionist attempts on their life had been thwarted since the conflict started? At least two.

"So he's staying here?" They shot a glance at Louie and nodded. "He said he's joining so he's joining. Let's get him settled in, yeah?" They didn't really expect anyone else to help him get settled, but whatever.

— cat… hugged people that weren’t gavril or mo? this was all news to the redhead, who had simply been standing there, trying to take all of this information in. catalyst hugging someone was definitely enough for him to raise his once-furrowed brows in slight surprise and also in the spirit of complete what-the-fuck-ness. Catalyst didn’t come off as the touchy-feely type so, seeing them pulling someone into a hug was simply enough for him to get a little bit more curious than he would’ve usually been.

“so who the hell is this?” he ended up asking, gesturing towards the newcomer. A glance towards paige after briefly remembering cat’s ignore her statement. “and when can i call you scott, since everybody around here seems to fuckin’ be doing it?” hey, fair question, since it seemed like everyone - even that slimy greaseball silas - literally everyone aside from him had called the leader “scott” at some point. whatever.
