he hesitated and stepped into the light of the basement- revealing the horns and tusks, the glowing armour and yellow eyes. “please don’t freak out.” he said quickly.

Derek quickly took a step back at the sight. His eyes widened a bit

he hesitated. “er.. i’m sorry i broke into your home..” he said. “but the sun was starting to hurt..”

He glanced him over, seeming a bit intrigued, but also slightly scared. “...What are you?” He asked

he blinked. “i’m a troll.. i thought humans knew what trolls were! the elders always said you hunted and ate us.. they also said you’d be much taller..”

He frowned. “Trolls? No...Can’t say I’ve ever heard of any trolls. And....We certainly have never eaten any of your kind.” He said

he blinked. “ok.. and just so you know, i don’t eat humans.” he said. “i’ve heard of human tales that say trolls eat humans but.. we don’t. i don’t at least..”

He blinked. “Huh...” He trailed off, glancing him over. It was strange how he never heard anything about these creatures before. No one in this town ever mentioned them.

he hesitated. “uh.. you’re just.. staring at me. are you in shock?” he asked.
