very playful and quite bright, has an odd fascination with bells- kind of like a kitten or puppy

Zal wasn't supposed to wander from the sewers so close to daylight. he knew he was supposed to stay in the shadows, but the streetlights were the closest thing hed ever get to feeling sunllight. he would stand in the light for as long as he could before it set in- the birds were starting to sing, and his blue, mineral like skin was starting to burn. the sun was coming up. "shit" he squawked and dove into the shadow of a tree, spotting what looked like an outter entrance to a basement, and he scrambled to it, tearing the chains straight off the door bars, and stumbling inside, slamming them shut. he missed a step, sending him tumbling down the little staircase, knocking down quite a few things near the bottom, causing quite a bit of noise. he whined softly, raising his hands to look at the gray splotches against the blue. he had made it just in time.

Derek had just gotten back to his house from his job. He wanted to settle down for the rest of the day. He was exhausted since he worked late shifts and didn’t get back until the early mornings. However, when he got home, he was greeted by the sound of something falling downstairs.

Derek froze, staying still for a moment before heading downstairs to go investigate whatever made the noise

hearing foot steps, he scrambled up, crouching low to the ground and slowly backing into a dark corner. his armour glowed, as did his eyes, which left him visible, but only barely. he shifted nervously, watching the steps.

After a while of searching, he didn’t find anything. His older brother wasn’t home so it wouldn’t be him making noises down here. He frowned, about yo head upstairs before he spotted something glowing in the shadows. He slowly moved towards it

he backed up, the metal of his armour clinking against the wall. he based his teeth and growled softly. sure, he wasn’t the biggest troll, but he was still larger than any average man. his glowing yellow eyes seemed to narrow.

He froze suddenly at the growl. He heard something bump against the wall. The hell was that? Did some wild animal manage to get in here? He frowned, looking it over. “Hey, it’s okay...I’m not going to hurt you.” He said. He then slowly made his way over to where the exit to the outside was through the basement door. He then opened the door. “There. You have a way out now.” Derek said

he whimpered as a sliver of light got closer, and he pressed further against the wall, slowly standing so he could flatten himself on the wall.

He blinked, looking back over at the creature. He frowned. “...Well I can’t have you staying in here.” He said

he stared at the light, hesitating. “and.. and i don’t want to turn to stone.. please close it.” he said softly, staring down at the light in obvious fear.
