There were no motivations which could lead her to leave Flintlock all together, especially with no supplies apart from a borrowed rifle. Eddie was suspicious and, most importantly, concerned. Something wasn’t right about her disappearance as nothing added up, and he couldn’t help but believe that on this walk they were looking for a body rather than a person.
Alfie maintained the belief that she still could be out there, safe and alive, but Ed refused to give him even the slightest glimmer of hope.
