Perhaps Michael should have been resting, maybe he really wasn't in the best shape to teach others how to defend themselves, but whatever the truth was, he would gladly ignore it if it meant the thrill of the fight, the unbridled adrenaline that came from even a faux fight. Raising a hand to his jaw, he cracked it, the loud pop of the joint probably audible from a relative distance. His face was expressionless as he looked at Addy, the only indication that he had heard the younger man being a slightly raised eyebrow.

He turned his attention to the others that soon arrived, Rae, a young woman who could certainly use some training, and the Ellis, a boy he knew very little about, and wasn't particularly interested in getting to know better. Was that bad of him? Mike didn't think so, he wasn't the best judge of character, but he just didn't want to get to know yet another angsty teenage boy... Gabe was enough, and truthfully Gabe wasn't actually that bad at all compared to most teenage boys.

Finally Cat arrived, and despite their recent, and past disagreements, Mike offered the leader a nod of his head, more of an slight incline really, but it did show a bit of respect for the leader, something that had been lost for a while in Mike's eyes, and he was only just regaining a semblance of it again. Regardless of their differences tough, Cat was still Mike's boss, and he would differ to them. As they spoke he shrugged, he was fighting with a hole in his leg, but if Cat wanted to wuss out, then Mike wouldn't say anything.

It wasn't his place at the moment anyways. He looked towards Addy with a slight smile curving on his lips, "Alright Red, since you've obviously got this all figured out, why don't you come show the class how easy it is to take out this waddling penguin. I'm sure you'll have no trouble at all." He jerked his head towards the center of the area, where fighting would be less likely to include other people by accident. A smile was curving over his lips, and there was a slightly wicked glint to his eyes.

He knew Addy wasn't an idiot, but he also knew that the young man had this thirst to prove himself, and that especially in the presence of others, he'd be almost unable to turn down a challenge (if only to avoid looking like a coward). He'd bested the young man once before, though, granted, he'd not had a bullet wound at the time. But he was sure he could at least give the kid a run for his money if not utterly humiliate him, and wasn't that what training was all about? "Come on hot stuff, don't think you can beat a gimp?"

Oh he was living for this, payback for the little insult... he wasn't going to hurt Addy... not a lot, Cat was here after all, and he didn't want to get in trouble for hurting another Badlander, but he also really wanted to take Addy's confidence down a notch, at least for a short while, that kid had an ego the size of Texas.

MICHAEL FORD
Michael Ford is a 45 year old, man, he's stubbornly loyal to whatever cause he chooses, protective of his family and friends, he's a member of the Badlands. Michael has issues controlling his anger in most situations. He is a difficult opponent and well trained, feel free to power play nonviolent interactions though.
