Loud but contained, the hoarse sound quickly spreads across the village, drawing Lupin to the original source like a moth to a flame. It's an effective alarm system if Lupin's ever known one; any external panic and they throw their voices into the wind until somebody investigates the cause of their concern. Sometimes, it saves a life; sometimes, it ends one. Regardless, it's a useful-enough tool, untaught and precious, that Lupin hasn't thought of any reason to quell the dogs' talkative habits.
"Jonathan?" Initially, he believes the man to be the trigger, as strange as that seems - but it becomes very abruptly apparent that there's something far more pressing at hand. Without stopping to contemplate his own safety (a horrendous habit, really), Lupin half-walks, half-runs towards the two men sat in the snow, acutely aware of how cold they must be. "Hey," he calls in a blatant attempt to draw their attention towards him. "Are you both okay? There's a village a few miles from here, if you want to rest there." Perhaps the offer will be rejected out of a fear for their safety; given the appearance of the younger, he wouldn't be too surprised if the duo was plagued with wariness, but he isn't certain he's capable of leaving them without the guilt consuming him alive.
