he blinked. “no, no! it’s alright, i just didn’t think anyone liked me enough..”

Nines blinked and said, smiling softly at Gavin, "Gavin, I enjoy your company immensely. You basically gave me my name.."

he blinked and hesitated, moving closer and hugging him. “thank youzz”

Nines' eyes widened slightly as he was hugged, but he only hesitated a moment before hugging back, saying softly, "You're welcome, Gavin." He then said, biting his lip, "I, uhm, I have something for you."

he blinked and his eyes widened. “you.. do..?” he asked.

[peridot.]

He nodded, saying with a soft blue blush, "Yes, I do. I... I was actually assigned to you as a secret Santa. It was very difficult for me to figure out something for you, so I actually got you several things." He then handed the other a small wrapped box, glancing down nervously. Inside was a small silver lighter that had Gavin's name engraved on it, a silver bracelet that had RK900 written on the inside, and 'Partners' written on the outside, and some sweets that he knew Gavin liked.

he watched him, still seeming very shocked about the entire thing. he hesitated and looked at the box, slowly taking it and hesitated before nearly unwrapping it (he never tore into presents- he was always taught to save the paper), and opened up the little box, staring down at he items inside. he blinked and looked at nines, tears suddenly flooding his eyes.

*swoops gavin away and to the restroom so he can c r y*

When Gavin opened his gift, Nines carefully kept an eye on his expression, trying to figure out if he had done right. When tears welled in Gavin's eyes, Nines' LED spun a worried yellow, and he quickly reached for the other, "G-Gavin, oh no. Did I get you the wrong gifts? I didn't mean to make you cry.."

he shook his head quickly. “n-no, i love it! i.. i haven’t g-gotten a gift other th-than a card since i w-was 19..” he said softly, voice shaking as he held back his tears.

Nines blinked and sat in confusion for a moment before saying softly, "...Would you prefer for me to not think of you as family? I won't if it makes you uncomfortable.."
