Rowan was quiet for a moment, pondering over his words with a blank look on her face. Then she smiled once more, and punched his arm lightly as she walked over to him. "And for you, I would find you a hundred times," she said softly, her words meaning more than they said. She began walking, beckoning him to follow.

"It's strange how time has changed things," she mused softly as she walked along. She wasn't worried about paying too much attention. It was too early for predators to be about, and her feet knew the path without her guidance. "When we first meet, I would have never imagined things would be the way they are known. Father and the others fear that the villagers are becoming too curious about the forest, and they fear I'm becoming too curious about the village." When the last words left her lips, she cursed herself. She shouldn't have relieved that.

"Not that-" she sighed, giving up trying to explain. He had heard, and now she would have to face whatever he thought about it. Rowan cursed herself silently.

Rowan stopped completely in her tracks. After a few seconds, she turned to face Tadeas. Her eyes were wide. "You do realize who my father is right? He would be beyond furious if I even dared to go to the outskirts of the village. He would never allow me out of his sights again," she exclaimed in a rush. She then added in a lower, softer voice, "But that doesn't mean I don't want to."

Without waiting for his answer, she resumed walking. "I would love to see the village, at least once in my life. But my father has an inhuman ability to know what is going on in the forest at all times, no matter where you are. He knew the moment I broke my arm climbing a tree when I was five. He wasn't even in the forest at the time. I just..." she sighed. "I don't want to get caught and him forbid me from every seeing you again."

Rowan glanced from his outstretched hand to his face. There was deep longing in her eyes, but also deep fear. "What if someone sees me?" she whispered. She could not forget who she was; she herself was an outlaw, and her father was the most wanted outlaw in the land. If she was spotted, with Tadeas, she feared what would happen to him more so than what would happen to her. She could get out of trouble; she didn't live there.

She suddenly looked in the direction of the village, battling herself. "I really, really, want to, but I'm...." her voice trailed off before she whispered, "I'm scared Tadeas. Terrified really." She had never admitted to being afraid of anything but her father before. Even facing a bear on her own hadn't frightened like the thought of leaving the forest did. But oh how she wanted to.

"What if something happens to you?" she finally asked.

Rowan bit her lip nervously, gazing first at his hand then into his eyes. So much rested on that moment. She trusted Tadeas, trusted him dearly, but she wasn't sure he knew what he was asking. On the other hand, she wanted it just as much, if not more, than he did. Fighting back the arguments screaming in her mind, she took his hand.

"Fine, but only for a minute. I mean it," she whispered to him firmly, but she could no longer hid the delight in her voice. She was, finally, after all these years, going into the village. If it was only for a minute, that would be long enough to last her a lifetime. She knew the moment her father found out, all freedom she had would be gone. But, for Tadeas, for this, it was worth the price.

"If I get the slightest sign that someone is coming, I'm bolting for it. I mean it, Tadeas. Your father would kill me if he got his hands on me," she warned him. But not even she understood the full amount of danger they were in.

(I want them to get caught)

Rowan bit the side of her lip, a nervous habit of hers. "Well...not exactly. Dad would be furious if he knew I went anywhere near the village. But what he doesn't know won't hurt him!" she said brightly, smiling. She clearly wasn't ready to part ways with him yet. It had been years since they had seen one another, and she was still rather fond of him.

Hearing him, she snorted. "I'm not leaving you to the wolves. I really don't mind getting you to the road. It's not far, and I could use a little walk before I go back to camp. The men are rowdier than ever, and the little ones no better," she said.

tadeas couldn't help but smile. it had been a while since he had seen rowan grin. when he first met her, he used to think that she didn't know how. with an arrow pointed at his face, she definitely appeared to be the stoic, intimidating type. but it was just the opposite; for that matter, the playful and mischievous robin hood turned out to be more frightening than her.

and tadeas admitted he thought from her to time to time. he had almost given up all hope on seeing her again, but now that they were in each other's presence again, he didn't want to leave.

he snorted. [b]"[i]wolves? c'mon, ro, you know they don't have a match on me," he said that jokingly, of course. both of them knew he wouldn't survive a night alone in this place. "and fine, if you insist. i ..really think i know the way back, but," he turned to her. "for you, i'll get lost a hundred times over."

that was bold. he didn't know why he did that.

"i didn't mean it in that way. it's just uh - been a long time, you know? we gotta catch up on some things."
[color=transparent]&&
[color=transparent]&&
his brow furrowed a little. [b]"don't apologize for yourself. it's not a crime to be curious." tadeas didn't blame rowan in the slightest. if he was in her place, he couldn't imagine not knowing anything but the forest. he was in the village every day; going a week without seeing the storekeepers sweeping their floors or horses getting dressed for daily outings would be completely abnormal.

"if your folks found out you went to the village, what would they do?" he didn't want to wait for an answer. once he thought of an idea, he was going to go through with it. "..rowan, you see what i'm suggesting, right?"

he wanted her to know. after he had spent an entire night in the forest, it was her turn.

"so?"
[color=transparent]&&
[color=transparent]&&
tadeas' frown deepened. rowan didn't deserve to live like this, no one did. but she did have a point - her dad was [i]frightening.

rowan stuck to the rules, but all hope wasn't lost. even with her father's threats hanging over her head, she still wanted to go. it was just that..she couldn't.

until now, at least.

[b]"i've stumbled in here at least twice now, rowan." he stared at the ground for a couple of seconds before looking her straight in the eye. "now it's your turn. come to the village with me, please," he held out a hand and mustered a small grin. "trust me. i'll get you in an out of there before you know it."

but right after, his smile faltered. "you deserve this. please, for you."
[color=transparent]&&
[color=transparent]&&
tadeas let his hand fall to his side. she was right. she was an outlaw, and he the son of the sheriff. if either of them were caught - together, at that - the consequences would be unimaginable. but still, something in him told him not to let this down.

[b]"i know," he was scared too, but the excitement of the entire ordeal was overpowering. "but listen --"

[i]"what if something happens to you?"

to him? his mouth pursed into a thin line. he didn't really think of that, which is why he assumed it didn't really matter. he could talk his way out of anything, especially with all his influence in the village. he got roses and breadsticks for free, for god's sake.

"don't worry about me, rowan. the only thing i need is your trust." he took out his hand again. "it'll be fun. you'll have the time of your life. then i'll bring you right back. all you have to do is trust me," he paused, really meeting her eyes for the first time since the start of their encounter. "please."
[color=transparent]&&

/hehe ok

tadeas broke into a grin. [b]"don't worry. i'll make it worth it." he took her hand and bolted through the bushes, body surging with a new kind of energy.

he knew that this was what he'd been longing for for a while now, but he was next to convinced that he'd never see her again. it was nice to daydream while picking daisies in the castle gardens, but now, it was a reality. rowan was next to him, and he next to her.

he skid to a stop, realizing that he had been running exceptionally fast.

"uh..you're right. i [i]don't know how to get out of here."

------

after a while, the pair emerged into a large, bustling clearing. no one seemed to notice, but he had a feeling that it wasn't just because they were pressed against the bushes.

"welcome to nottingham, rowan."
