Rowan was quiet for a long time. So, this was the fearsome son of the man who had killed so many of her family. Did she trust him? Not really. But, she deserved to tell him her name. He had told her his.
"I am Rowan." she tells him, lowering her bow. She walked over to him, and stood to where they could actually see one another. Rowan was shorter and thinner than him. Her skin was darker, kissed by the sun it appeared. Her hair was a rich brown red color, and was braided down her back. Her eyes were dew shaped, and watery blue. She smiled at him.
"What are you doing out in the forest Tadeas if you live in town?" she questioned him, tilting her head slightly to the side. She was a curious person. She couldn't help it.

He found himself taking a step back when she approached him. Rowan. He gave her a small nod of acknowledgement, but was caught off guard by the smile that ensued.

He wasn't sure how to answer.
[b]"I got bored. There's nothing to do over there. No one to play with, either. Everyone's boring." It wasn't completely a lie -- as a matter of fact, not one at all. He really was bored. And if this meeting worked out for the better, maybe he wouldn't be anymore.
"What are you doing out here?" By her clothes and demeanor, it seemed obvious. But he had to make sure.
He ended up answering the question for her. "Is this..is this your home?" he grinned. "You live with Robin Hood or something?"

Rowan smiled faintly. "Yes, this is my home. And yes, I live with Robin Hood." she told him. He didn't seem like a threat at all; just a scared boy. She turned and began walking away from him slowly. "Want a look around?" she offered him over her shoulder. She paused, waiting to hear his answer.
Rowan suddenly turned around, facing him once more. "Just, promise me you won't tell anyone?" she asked him, concern in her gaze. Robin Hood had forbidden her from telling anyone who she was, or bringing anyone into the forest. Now she was about to break both of the rules. But it seemed worth it to have a friend.

That was precisely what he wanted. Tadeas hadn't had a look around since his father's quaint lashing the other day. He would quite love a look around. "Yeah." he nodded, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
He was a little confused, though. Who was she, and why the heck was she letting him have a look around?

About what? Letting him have a look around, or the whole shenanigan about Robin Hood? "Cross my heart and kiss my elbow." He wouldn't tell a soul if his life depended on it. He knew his dad was out to kill Mister Hood, but he never thought he was real.

Rowan grinned and nods. "Let's get going. It'll be dark soon and I'll have to lead you out before then." she said. She then took off at a run, glancing back behind her every so often to make sure he was keeping up. She lead him deep into the forest. In the distance, a faint roaring could be heard. It sounded like a waterfall.
"I'm going to show you the waterfall first. We fish here a lot." Rowan told him over her shoulder. She slowed as the roaring grew louder until she was walking. She grinned at him before leading the way between two rocks.
The rocks opened up to reveal a large pound. It was surrounded by the rock wall, and across from the entrance was a small waterfall. It sprayed a light mist as the water fell, creating a rainbow. The grass was a bright green, and short. There was only one tree. It was beside the waterfall, and was an ancient willow.
"I love it here." Rowan told him as she made her way down to the water's edge. She sat down on one of the flat rocks, and looked back at him. "Come sit beside me. We can talk for a moment then I'll show you some more." she told him.

she was being strangely nice to him after shoving a stick in his face. [b]"yeah, okay." he obeyed anyway. he didn't want another stick being shoved in his face. those things just weren't pleasant.
tadeas glanced up at the dimming sky. "i can't believe you guys actually live here. y'know what? i thought your dad was a myth. like -- my dad wants to kill him, but i thought he was like, koo koo or something."
his dad was koo koo about a lot of things - especially robin hood. he couldn't get enough of that guy. robin hood this! robin hood that! at least he should've been kind enough to invite him for dinner someday. maybe they could kill each other peacefully.
"what else do you have here? do you have other things here?" he couldn't imagine anything else being here, really. oh - except robin hood. he would love to see him.

"Our land is huge. It would take days to show you everything." Rowan said, pride in her voice. She then gazed at the waterfall, thoughtful. "What's it like where you are from? You know, living in the town?" she asked him.
Rowan had never been allowed in the town, or anywhere near it for that matter. Robin Hood had warned her, and forbidden her, several times over about going near it. He said it was far too dangerous for her. But she lived in the woods, where anything could kill you at any moment. Surely the town be that bad?
Rowan looked back at him, waiting for his answer. There was an opened, curious look on her face. She truly did want to know.

"we don't have too much to do over there. well - i don't. dad kills people for a living, i think." as he narrated the story of his hometown, he saw he was making up a lot more than he realized. he didn't know much about nottingham at all, did he? just that..he ate a lot of croissants, and that all the girls liked him.
"it's boring. it really is." after a few seconds of silence, he turned to her suddenly. "my dad [i]hates your dad. he says that he's the reason why uh, why..he like, doesn't have as much gold, or something."
he couldn't imagine what rowan was thinking, because he didn't comprehend the gravity of the situation until much later.
"it's getting a little late, i think. my dad will be really mad at me when i get home." best not to go home at all. no -- then he'd send people to look for him. nah, that was boring. he might as well just go home and be smacked a little and then be let off to bed.

Rowan had listened to him, but hadn't said a word. She was thinking about what he said. Hearing him talk about her father, she hid a smirk. However, she didn't comment on that matter either. Hearing him say he had to go, she stood up.
"It was nice talking to you too. And I'm sure we'll talk again. Come on, I'll walk you to the edge of the forest." She offered with a smile. She wasn't quiet ready to let go of her new friend. She and her brother were the only children in the group, and her brother never played with her. He was too busy learning

"i wish i could stay longer, i really do." he murmured, knowing well that he didn't. for one, he didn't want to endure a lashing from his dad. and two, this place gave him the chills. how was someone supposed to [i]live here, actually?
they eventually began wandering for a while, and tadeas' trust in his new friend was beginning to wane. was she leading him into a trap? what if she belonged to a family of cannibals, and she only said that robin hood was her father to get his attention? wait, was robin hood a cannibal?
"uh...rowan, i think we passed this tree twice."
no, he was just being paranoid. she would never do that. save a year or two, she was probably his age. she didn't have the guts to do anything like that to him, did she?
but who knows? these aloof, forest types seemed to be a bit wild. ugh, he shouldn't have left at all. curse his pettiness and boredom with society. at least living in such a boring heaven wouldn't get him killed.
