The small made a soft noise and curled up a bit into a ball as he was put down, and after a minute a male's voice picked up the phone, "Hello?"

he blinked. “hi, my name is salem. uh.. so, newt fell asleep at school while working on theatre stuff. i was wondering if it’d be alright with you guys if i brought him to my place since it’s just down the street from school?†he asked.

There was a moment of silence from the other end of the line before the male cleared his throat and said softly, "Erm, yeah, sure, that sounds fine. He knows how to get back here after school tommorow. Uhm... Thanks. For bringing him to your place, since he's fallen asleep? That's very nice of you."

There was a soft gasp from the end of the line as Salem spoke, and the male seemed surprised and guilty, but then it was silent as Salem hung up. Newt made a soft noise and shifted in his sleep, stuffing his face further into his arms.

once he finished up, he grabbed both of their bags, one on each shoulder, his tail curled around anything extra. he moved to pick him up slowly, humming softly.
