[align=center][size=9pt]The sound of a beautiful bassline, fit with the hard taps of a drumline with palm and fingers along the wood of a guitar filled the lodge. Moksha was out in the forest, the snow making his pants wet and his lap filled with his braid to keep it out of the mud. His hair was partially down, sort of haphazardly braided halfway and tied into a ponytail otherwise. He wore a grey dress shirt, unbuttoned at the top to let his neckline breath. What he played was slower than what he gently murmured, his eyes closed and his hair in his face as he gently sang to himself, his fingers picking easily at the newly tuned strings, and his palm and thumb tapping out a beautiful drumline on the wood. He swayed slightly, feelign he was alone, and comfortable in his surroundings out in the quiet woods. Away from everyone else. It was the reason he'd chosen to do it here.
Beside Moksha, sat Calum, quiet and smiling at the happiness Moksha showed with his thick bassy voice and songs of god and his whistling of the harmonica part.
// So Moksha doesn't know if anyone is listening! And I listened to THIS song! This is his voice and the one he's playing <3 Without all of the... extra of course. Just singing, baseline and drumline.

Her family all gathered around a fire, playing their instruments and singing the traditional songs of her ancestors. That was before... Everything changed, of course. She was only six when the memory of her beautiful family was taken from her. It was distorted into something a young girl shouldn't have seen. Daesung wandered the halls of the lodge, her head swinging slowly to the melody of a song she didn't realize was playing until she came close to it. A very large man with a guitar in his lap was playing the instrument like a god. A smile touched the edges of her lips, her monolidded eyes, hidden behind her hair, crinkling at the edges. "You play beautifully."

You'd never catch him doing it, but Gray actually wasn't a half-bad singer, though it was a bit too high-pitched for his liking. He went out of his way to make his speaking voice deeper, and it sounded natural enough, but whenever he tried to change his singing voice it sounded... wrong. It wasn't as good, and seemed like he was trying to do a voice.
Now, the voice he could distantly hear singing (along with a guitar and drum), he would kill to be able to sing like that. Veering away from the library, he started following the sound, out into the forest where Moksha and Calum were sitting, and were Daesung was complimenting the music. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he bobbed his head. "Yeah... You've got a nice voice."

[align=center][size=8pt]Moksha physically flinched, his singing fading off but his fingers still quietly playing bassline. He looked up at Dae, his smile falling into the furrow of his brow and a grimace. He avoided looking up at her, leaving the talking to Calum, who gave an apologetic smile. Next up was Gray, which got a slight glare from Moksha. Calum just sighed quietly, looking afriad to speak, but he did. "Advay thinks so too," he said awkwardly, as if trying to make conversation with the two of them, but something seemed to hit somewhere in Moksha. Calum had practiced saying things that made Moksha decide on his own, and that was one of them. He went back to the regular playing, this time with the regular acoustic chorus, leaving the baseline out as his hand danced through the main riff and the drums, his voice coming back quietly, but not before a soft, "Thanks," clearly falling back into a relaxed thought.
Calum smiled up at the other two. "He um... likes keeping it to himself." He couldn't say shy. Moksha was already glaring at him, he might as well have asked for a popped skull if he'd said shy.

NARIN LUNA [table] |
The soft humming of a murmured voice and the strumming of a slow melody. Took her back, definitely took her back. It was beautiful, not that she'd tell the musician.
She followed the sound into the forest. It was a nice, albeit cold day; she was bundled up in a big grey winter coat, though underneath she wore a short-sleeved black shirt and an adorable silver vest she'd "found" a couple weeks ago. But the weather didn't appreciate her fashion tastes, so she had to hide it with something to keep warm.
She hadn't realized she'd zoned out thinking about clothing and how much she missed warmer weather until she was walking up to the small group. She listened to their chatter quietly, and she let out a huff to contain a chuckle as Moksha glared daggers at Calum.
"Fair enough." Narin commented. "Would you mind if I sat and listened?" She decided to ask, since he'd already gone back to playing and she was beginning to really like the tune. |

[align=center][size=8pt]Moksha's eyes shifted up from the strings to stare quietly at Narin. Honestly, he did mind, but Advay wouldn't have, and Calum always liked big crowds. Advay liked to share his music with people, but only when Moksha was with him. And when Moksha was with them, they would often play together. The thought made him sigh slightly. Wherever his special little Addy was he hoped he was well. "Sure," he murmured between the break of a couple verses, before falling back into it.
Cal scooted over to Narin, his eyes wide and excited. "I'm Cal," he introduced softly, not wanting to interupt Moka anymore.

Narin watched Moksha, silently wondering what thoughts were going through his mind. But after a few moments, he seemed to be accepting of her presence.
She sat down next to Cal, not really enjoying how cold the ground was but it wasn't like she'd thought to bring a chair. "Oh, hi. I'm Narin." She introduced quietly, not wanting to get on Moksha's nerves too much. |

[align=center][size=8pt]Calum smiled, looking happy to have a conversation with someone other than temperamental Moksha. Temperamental meaning more or less violent and cold. Behind their conversation, Moksha changed songs, going into more of an acoustic riff again and starting out with a story of a boy, who got into a car crash with a lower octave. "That's a cool name," he said happily, "My full name is Calum...does yours mean anything?" He was curious to know if it was special in some way. Did it mean something or was it from her family somehow? His was spiritual...so was Moksha's. Actually, he thought Advay's was too. It was funny how stuff like that worked out. He'd forgotten what his meant, but he'd never forgotten what Moksha's meant. Freedom from life and death. "A-and um," he paused for a moment, thinking, "What is your favorite food?"
NARIN LUNA [table] |
Narin leaned back, approving of Moksha's choice of songs about.. Car crashes? Jeez, that was dark but she enjoyed the haughtiness.
"Mhm, thanks." Narin said. "Calum's a nice name- oh, and mine means fragile and delicate." Narin softly spoke, a hint of humor to her tone. She remembered asking her mother what her name meant, after getting picked on at school by the other kids for having a weird name. "What does yours mean?"
"And I like fruits. Pears and peaches, specifically." Narin said with a shrug. "They're hard to find nowadays." |

[align=center][size=8pt]Calum leaned in, rather than out, his eyes wide and curious. He really was like one big Labrador puppy. "Really?" He tilted his head, "That's really cool...I think mine has something to do with that kind of stuff too," he frowned. "I can't remember specifically, though. Moksha would know," he smiled, whispering Moksha's name as not to break his big friends concentration. He was never in school. This whole thing had happened when he was three years old, andten years later he'd found Moksha after his parents left him in favor of more food for them. He didn't blame them. Everyone had their own levels of constitution. He was sure they had a hard decision with that, and even if they didn't, he still wasn't mad. "Oh, man, I haven't had fruit in forever," he sighed, "I mean, berries are kind of a fruit, but not like...an apple. Or any melons." He turned his attention off in the direction of the greenhouse. "Do you think it'll be big enough to grow fruit trees? Maybe, maybe uh," he smiled wide, sitting straight up and lacing his fingers together. "Then we could have pears and peaches in there!"
