ALL WE'VE EVER REALLY WANTED

— At first, Gray almost seems to be introverted, typically avoiding other people when he can and keeping to himself, and while usually he's not hostile, he does seem like a loner. However as he begins to get more comfortable with people and his surroundings, it becomes clear that he's more on the extroverted side and is perfectly friendly and nice, though he does tend to keep walls up and rarely reveals his deeper, darker thoughts
— While Gray isn't necessarily hostile, he can be aggressive at times and if he has an issue with someone he won't hide it, and is frankly a very confrontational individual and is rarely one to walk away from a fight, even ones he knows he'll lose
— Even though physical fights aren't his forte, Gray is smart, witty and sarcastic enough to hold his own in most verbal/mental battles. He's an analytical thinker by far, and a strategist, though there isn't a creative bone in his body.
— It's impossible to truly call him honest or dishonest - he falls firmly in between, lying when he (thinks) he has to but telling the truth for the rest of the time.
— Likewise, you cannot truly call him loyal or disloyal - while he cares about his group and those in it, he is self serving and will almost always put himself first.

— Sleeps during the day, from around dawn until noon. This is because the nightmares that plague him are stronger at night and because of his nyctophobia, things that began the night his adopted mother was killed
— Dislikes guns because that was the weapon used to kill Diana, and believes that anyone that can turn a gun on another human being in anything but self defense is a monster, though he himself uses a rifle in hunting

— Is incredibly awkward when anyone flirts with him and usually tries to get them to stop or brushes it off. This is largely because he's still really confused about his sexuality, mostly because he's still internally at war with himself about his gender identity, whether it's flat out wrong or right for him. However, when Gray is drunk, he not only is fine with flirting, not only will he respond to it, but he'll start it
— Struggling with his gender identity and accepting himself, knows he identifies as male but has a great deal of transphobia internalized, and he believes that if he comes out as trans or reveals that he was born female, people will hate and reject him. — Val and Summer Rivendare had an arranged marriage, one that both were happy in (at least as much as they could be), but they had many tragedies. Before having twins Kurt and Snake, they had a miscarriage, and after that had another, then another. These hit Summer harder than Val, as she'd always wanted a daughter and felt like she was destined never to have one. Not to say Val was unaffected by the loss of his children, because he was. But he was also used to keeping his emotions bottled up. It was several years after the birth of their twins that they had a little girl, who they named Aria
— They raised Aria in a household with "traditional" values, women being women who stayed in their place, men being men who stayed in their place, and the two getting married to someone their parents picked. They taught her to hate trans people, and while she was young she accepted it, but didn't feel good about it. Later she'd realize she is both trans and gay (well, pan), though as difficult as it is, this history will only use the correct name and pronouns once they take effect
— When she was young, his parents arranged a marriage between her and a boy a few months older than her, Daniel. She'd only realize that they'd been engaged later on after leaving, but grew up happy to have him as her best friend, along with his twin sister Rayna

— There is no one that is safe from Uther's scathing comments, not even the people he likes. He's very sarcastic and condescending when pointing out the shortcomings of others, and his harshness is often the side most presented to other people
— He does have a softer, kinder side, but it is seldom shown to anyone and is an aspect of himself that he keeps locked up, as if he views it as a weakness despite encouraging kindness and selflessness in others
— Uther is a manipulator, being fairly good at hacking into people's psyche and twisting it. Sometimes he uses his powers for good, other times he does not
— He is extremely loyal, but only to those he believes deserve it. It's incredibly difficult for him to like or develop trust in anyone, but it's very easy to get on his bad side
— Tends to keep an emotional distance from most/all and does not let others in easily. Even those that are close to him know little of his history unless they partook in it
— He is stubborn and strong-willed, once he makes up his mind it is nearly impossible to change it

Uther was the sole witness of his death, and while he was congratulated for driving the young man to suicide, in the wake of Leo's death Uther didn't feel right. He was guilty and sank into a deep pit of self loathing, he began realizing just how flawed he was, his family was, his beliefs were. [End TW]

MY LIFE STARTED THE DAY I GOT CAUGHT

— Marine Beaufort, goes by either Marine or Ms. Beaufort, detests nicknames but has in the past tolerated the nickname "Mamabird Marine"

— Born in who-knows-where, to NPC parents. She lived a quiet six years with them before they were killed by the Young Rogues, a group which Marine had no choice to join. She remained with them for twelve years, making friends (and enemies) and even dating one of them. She was exiled at eighteen for "growing up" and went on to Northstar District, where she currently resides and is the Guardian/Leader.

UNDER THE COVERS WITH SECONDHAND LOVERS

— Her height is undecided, but she is on the taller end.
— Her eyes are also very vaguely defined, but are most likely a pale blue, green or gray.
— She has long, straight, black hair that is frequently tangled.

WHO WAS I TRYNA BE?

— Marine carries a great distrust and dislike for those that were adults prior to the blackout, blaming them for the apocalypse. As far as she's concerned, they're all responsible in their own way, even just by doing nothing while the virus destroyed everything. It's a belief that was very much sowed by the Young Rogues, one she would doubtless lack without their influence.
— The Young Rogues actually influenced a few different things for her, including making her prioritize children much more than adults, as well as make the line between child and adult very clear to her.
— She isn't a remorseful person; she doesn't see what the point in regretting anything is, after all, it's not as if she can go back and change anything. The only thing to do is keep moving forward, and that's what she does. Still, there are several things she wishes she could change.

THEN THE TIME TO BE SAD IS OVER

— Marine has only had one significant other, Angie Farren, who she dated for several years, however in the latter few months of their relationship she had several one night stands with various men, and the discovery of her cheating was what actually ended her relationship with Angie and got her kicked out of the Young Rogues.

— She is currently single and not looking, afraid of hurting another person like she did her ex.
— Daughter of two NPCs, both of which were murdered when she was six.

— Marine was born to two NPC parents, and honestly this is gonna be redone later on so.
— Her parents were killed when she was six years old, right before her eyes, in a raid on her house by the Young Rogues. Without anyone to care for her and unable to care for herself, she had no choice but to join the Rogues, where she met (among others) Angie Farren, James Barton and Simon Floros, later also meeting Sarah Laine and Gordon Mar, all of whom she quickly became friends with. In the months after her parents' death, she struggled to fit in and often cried herself to sleep, but with the help of her friends she was able to adapt. [rewrite this bit too]
— TYR had/has a rampant thievery problem, with kids often stealing from each other as well as anyone they come across, all in the name of survival. Marine also became quite the thief, in her teen years often going out to find marks to steal from.
— Marine took her first life at ten years old, in her first ever raid. The man she killed was likely going to die anyway, either due to a fire or blood loss, making this a mercy killing. Over time she'd take several more lives.
