Salem had just begun to settle down. She hadn't been able to explore the casino much, but her eyes lit up when she approached the entrance and eyed the woman holding a baby. She didn't quite know what to say, considering she didn't know anyone here except Teddy. So, she simply shifted her weight from foot to foot once she arrived at the meeting, glancing around to see if anyone was watching.

Teddy would proudly strut through the crowd alongside his older brother and his sister-in-law as she carried one of his nephews up to the front of the casino, greeting nearby Badlanders suavely as he passed them by. After all, people loved Teddy for his ever-so-amicable front. He made people feel as if they were the most important person in the world whenever he did as little as lay his eyes on them, and it made him a very popular man. In his eyes, this was his world; these people just occupied it.

"let's get started then, shall we?" she let her gaze look around the faces once more, making sure that their eyes and full attention were on her.
"to begin, we have some new members that have joined us. i'd like to welcome piper, drulaema, max, ruslan, veronika, and salem." there had been a wave of newcomers lately and it was very pleasing to see. "you are all just prospectives currently - prove your loyalty and worth. once you do that, you can become a rightful member here in the badlands." juliette once again fell silent as she pondered what tasks she could give them. "i'm in a lovely mood today, so i will let you pick what you want to do to earn your place. here are your options: you can participate in the northstar raid, which i have more information about saved for later, and bring the administration back a valuable gift or if you're feeling extra ambitious, kill someone. bring me back their tongue. after you complete one of those, we can see about you having an induction ceremony."
"going off of that, we are having rank sign ups, please go check that out and register yourself. we are also looking for people to promote to high position ranks. if you are interested, go sign up and then show us that you have what it takes." she hummed lightly, going through the mental list she had prepared in her head.
"oh! i am particularly excited about this next announcement..." the smile only grew more on her face as she thought about it. "with the new badlands gaining more clientele and visits, we are going to start holding new events and having mandatory dress codes for such occasions. to make sure everyone can be included if they don't have the proper attire, i have taken it upon myself to open up a new boutique. everyone can use the clothes there... for a price, of course." juliette had spent so much time clearing out the old building and making sure everything was in order, she was proud of her work that she did regarding her boutique.
"alright, just a few things left for this meeting until you are all free to go." she lightly rubbed matthew's back as she spoke, his head starting to rest on her shoulder as he began to doze off while she rocked him. "as i briefly mentioned earlier, my dear micah and i are going to pay northstar district a little visit in the near future. on top of becoming acquainted with their leader, we are also going to be raiding their group, so we will be looking for people to volunteer and help with that. if you are interested in going, come find one of us to let us know."
"as for the last order of business - kiki..." her hazel eyes looked through the members before they landed on them. "it is time for your induction ceremony, if you would please come up here." as they made their way up, she spoke some more. "kiki has completed their task and is now becoming a made man. let this be some inspiration for you newcomers." she turned and got the written oath before handing it over to kipp, taking a step back to stand by micah after so that they could recite it.
// okay so!
- welcome to all of the new members! we are excited to have you here and hope you enjoy it!
- please make sure to check out the rank sign ups and hp tryouts!
- juliette has opened a boutique!
- there is going to be a group going to nd to raid them! be on the lookout for the upcoming thread!
- kiki is having their induction ceremony!

Murder someone?
Salem knew the badlands was bad. But this was the place where she was from. Where her parents were from. What if she ran into someone she knew there?
Salem forced herself to suppress a shiver and plastered on a smile. "Juliette, right? Let me go to the Northstar district with you. I'll even..." She swallowed before continuing, "I'll give you someone's tongue. That's a promise."
[align=center][div style="width: 400px; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px;"][font=calibri]Ruslan, understandably, felt a bit out of place here. He was new, not only to the Badlands but to America. The young man had quietly made his way into the meeting, taking a place near the back of the crowd.
He could piece together what the woman was saying; this was a ruthless group, eager to prove their strength and make their mark in the post-apocalyptic world. He understood the desire to make strong soldiers out of their members, he understood why the Administration would ask such gruesome tasks of the "prospectives" like him. Ruslan blinked, receiving and making note of this information. He didn't want to stay a lowly worm in this group, subject to taunts and sneers and even swinging fists. This group, the Badlands... it had potential to protect and support him and his sister, as long as they put in the work.
To prove his worth, he would have to choose between killing a man, bringing a "gift" to the leaders, or participating in the upcoming raid. Ruslan supposed he'd opt for the latter, and perhaps a gift if he could find one. He would have to approach the leaders after the meeting to let them know he would be coming along.
Speaking of proving one's worth, someone named "Kiki" was being initiated as a made man. Dark eyes watched as the ceremony began, curious as to what would take place.

this group hadn't been anything like their previous; in fact, groups like these are what got [I]their group slaughtered in the first place, and despite her having not spoken to them since she got there— there was almost this unspoken agreement that there was no need to now that they were within the safety of a group— she couldn't help but wonder what ruslan and ronnie thought about such requests.
the administration didn't have to worry about her , she thought , she had no plans on staying long. she'd stay long enough to get back on her feet . . . to not feel as if she's doesn't feel as if she's floating on water, and then she'd be on her way once more. hopefully there was more than this , that people were kinder than this. and if not? hell, she'll curl up in a lighthouse and die alone if it's called for.
her eyes flickered over to ronnie and ruslan , who sat across the clearing for her. she could just make out ruslan's face , but she couldn't really read him. not like that was anything new. she was too caught up in her own head to ever read anyone clearly. either way, who cared what they thought? they weren't really her siblings, after all.
