As promised in this thread, here is the plotting thread for the new redeveloped animal game that we would like to introduce to Bearbones! We would be very grateful for support and suggestions from everyone as this will ultimately be a member-lead game on the site, so we want a game that you will all enjoy.

The basis of the animal game is explained briefly in the first post in the thread that I linked above but, other than that, the world is very open for development. We are currently looking to develop three new groups with your help:

• one peaceful, ❛ good ❜ group;
• one neutral group; and
• one antagonistic, ❛ bad ❜ group.

Following the development of these three groups, we will then move on to develop the world's lore.

Additionally, we are searching for leaders and high positions for these groups. If you are interested in taking up one of these positions, or you know someone who would be, then let me know!

So, have you got any ideas for any of these groups?

Also, I may have a few suggestions for the neutral or peaceful group?
one. They believe in one or a number of deities and that these deities are tied with various aspects of their world. One common trait shared among the deities they believe in is that they are tied to water, which - in their perspective - is the substance for all life. Whether or not these deities are actually real is, obviously, up for debate.
two. Those born into the clan are expected to believe in these gods and may be looked down upon for not believing in them. However, they are to be given just as much opportunity to be welcomed and integrated among the more believing ranks of the clan. The same is true for outsiders who, while they are to be introduced to the belief, shouldn't have any pressure on their shoulders to believe in their gods. This is due to the fact that, by not giving others equal opportunity or being oppressive towards others goes against what they believe of their gods.
three. Due to the strange tint of various bodies of water in their territory, they believe the water in these pools/lakes/rivers/etc is actually their deity/deities ichor.
four. Only high ranking members of their clan are allowed to drink from and bathe in these bodies of water; however, even then, it is only for specific events or ceremonies. Some of these events or ceremonies are only to be accompanied by other higher ranking members. It is considered blasphemy to drink or bathe in these waters at other times or for lower ranking members to do so. Therefore, such acts of blasphemy should be punished.
five. Drinking from these tinted lakes is known to induce mutations (though, it'd obviously be up to the roleplayer whether or not the mutations would actually be induced) in those who drink it. Worshipers of the gods within the clan believe that these mutations are actually the marks of divinity and those who obtain them should be treated with respect and should be protected.

I hope these suggestions are ok!

Firstly, I'd like to apologise sincerely for taking so long to get back to you. I realise it was wrong on my part to not acknowledge your message and getting carried away with school is no excuse for not popping a quick message to say that I had seen this!

But, now that I am here, I would like to say that I absolutely love your suggestions. It would be lovely to implement your group idea and have it become the peaceful group in the game! If we were to do so, would you at all be interested in leading the group, or would you prefer if someone else was the leader, [member=2332]abralithe[/member] ?

Does anyone else have any ideas on the neutral and antagonistic group?

popping in very late, but i'd worked on an entire group for something else that never got put to use, so i'd like to put forth that idea here! potentially give it a life if anyone else is interested. the entire doc with all information is here, including mild lore and religion that i'd briefly worked on.  of course, this can all be changed as the world here for bearbones develops, and i'm open to any ideas anyone has about amphiria!

in brief, they are a neutral (with potential lean towards any side depending on who's leading the group as well) that would live submerged in an air bubble, atlantis style!  they worship the gods that saved them from drowning and keep the secret of the sacrifice of their members as offerings to said gods in order to keep the air bubble from ever disappearing.

I'm obsessed. We've developed three concepts so far for the game (one inspired heavily by abralithe's suggestions in this thread), and your group idea would fit so well alongside the other concepts! I'm loving how everything is all coming together and I believe that soon we'll have a new up and running animal game!

Would you at all be interested taking on a HP role if your group was one of the groups in the game, or maybe even the group's leviathan?

and yes, i'd love to kickstart this as the leviathan! i have a myriad of characters i can work with as well, so when this all finalized if it would be good to have amphiria take a certain lean, i can help work that in through the leader ;0

As well as this, here are the other group concepts that have been discussed!
Sequoia Springs would be a neutral group. They live within a desert/boreal valley which is notable for the hot springs that they greatly value and the zig-zagged, precarious pathways which lead out into the loner lands. They very much act like hunters who bless and thank the food they eat, and they store things in bulk to make sure they can provide for all their members plus any newcomers in need. They have a giant sequoia tree which is seen as their main hub, a place where their gatherers store their accumulated goods for the group to protect. Little do they know they actually live upon a supervolcano, hence the hot springs. They are a group which focuses on survival, and value working hard together to get the job done.

Neptune's Ridge would be a peaceful group, a group of supposed mages that live not too far from Sequoia Springs, and it highly influenced by Abralithe’s amazing idea above! Their territory was stricken by the radiation zone, especially since they live within a watershed so radiation is washed down by the rains and into their lakes. Because of this, their sources of water glow a luminescent blue, and the creatures believe that this water is their deity's ichor. Drinking from these waters can be seen as an act of worship and divine healing & protection, but in reality it induces mutations which create abilities in creatures. A mutated creature in Neptune’s Ridge is deemed a divine being and is respected and worshipped by the group. Within these waters are jellyfish looking creatures which the group believe are the souls of those within their group who have since passed. Many members in the group are known to be mages, experimenting with medicinal herbs and most act subtly with "magical" abilities however the most powerful of these creatures can practice in resurrection and regeneration of things around them, their own recently deceased members included.

The Black Dog Motel would be an antagonistic group inspired by Timothy, a ragtag group of misfit thieves that live in a derelict motel in the middle of the desert. They light the desert up at night with neon lights to light the way, and steal & scavenge for supplies. They are fiercely loyal to each other, but very wary of outsiders. They don't have strong beliefs in any benevolent celestial beings, instead believing in their own instincts to survive in a world they see is dangerous. They believe that lost souls from the underworld wander the surrounding desert, mainly due to a mysterious crater that is permanently on fire some distance away from the motel. In reality, it's due to a natural gas field that collapsed after the nuclear fallout. But, this group believes that it is the gate to the underworld, a gate which is open for lost souls to escape from and wander their territory. Due to this, they have ceremonial rituals where they sacrifice a martyr to the fiery crater frequently to appease the underworld and protect their people from the evil lost souls.

When disaster strikes, SS & NR tend to blame BDM as they believe that the fire crater is created by the demons and BDM feeds the demons with their sacrifices and gives them the strength to cause harm to their beautiful world.

NR & BDM believe that SS lives in excess. They gather too much, hunt too much, take too much from the earth and they believe that they are losing connection with their humility. They try to compare them to the greedy humankind that caused a nuclear fallout, and fear that SS' "greed" will only cause destruction.

SS & BDM are concerned about NR as it appears that such a large quantity of their creatures are becoming excessively mutated, and their abilities like resurrection and regeneration make them feel afraid as they believe that NR are trying to play god and that it will only upset the celestial beings.
What are everyone's thoughts? Any other ideas that you may have for these groups? Do any of these group ideas inspire you to create a character for it, and would anyone be interested in leading any of these groups?

I love these ideas! I would just love to jump into the animal roleplay again. While I don’t think I could manage a leader, I’d be interested in HP tryouts and such :0

I'd also like to possibly drop a character into Neptunes Ridge, though I don't know if the leadership position is still open!

I'm actually really excited for this and I'm hoping that soon the group guides will be up and running (this includes Amphiria if you are still up to lead, Moony!).

Also, Cas the position to lead Neptune's Ridge is still open! Are you up to lead?
