Having been raised in the poverty-ridden side of New Orleans, Teddy was sober to the very fact that those who had nothing quite frankly tended to be the ones who struggled the most through life unhappily. Many knew the old time saying that money couldn’t buy happiness, but Teddy surely would be far more content right where he was, lounging beneath the warmth of the summer sun on a balmy beach, than he would ever be if he was still down in New Orleans, slaving away in order to make ends meet.

Besides, this sun-kissed tan he had made him look far more glamorous.

❝ Huh. If only someone could get us some Bahama Mamas and a shoulder rub, then that would be the dream. ❞ He hummed comfortably, tipping his sunglasses up to glance over towards the small group of beachgoers nearby who all glanced up at him quietly. ❝ No, really. Next time, let's bring some down with us. ❞

❝ What’s a Bahama Mama? ❞ A woman piped up curiously, rolling onto her side to frown at him. Teddy’s brows shot up, in awe, before he too rolled to his side to look back at her.

❝ You don’t know what a Bahama Mama is?! ❞

❝ Nuh uh. ❞

❝ Oh, you would love it. You take rum, fruit juices, grenadine. Muah! Sorprendente! ❞ He grinned before rolling back onto his back. ❝ You know what? I will make you one someday. You are going to love it. ❞

❝ I’m counting on it, Teddy. ❞

Cricking his neck from side to side, Teddy then got himself comfortable once again. Someday this life would be perfect.

I'VE BEEN TO EVERY CONTINENT, BROKEN ALL THE HEARTS IN EVERY HEMISPHERE, AND IF I'M NOT THE TYPE OF GUY YOU LIKE TO CIRCUMVENT, JUST REMEMBER NOT TO LOVE ME WHEN I DISAPPEAR. I GRADUATED AT THE TOP, I LIKE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BOURGEOISIE . . .

julien was trying to become comfortable with the idea of living comfortably. it wasn’t that easy-living was something he was opposed to - if anything he was grateful for it - but there was a part of him that pondered if easy-living was really that easy. they could just stroll in and have these comfortable lives for themselves? julien was still waiting to see what the catch was. there had to be some sort of strings attached.

”huh. if only someone could get us some bahama mamas and a shoulder rub. then that would be the dream.”

teddy’s idea of paradise sounded more like julien’s own hell. he looked towards teddy as a woman rolled to her side to talk to him about bahama mamas. teddy already had these people eating out of his hand. he barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes. instead, lips pursed as eyes gazed down at the other man tanning.

he stepped closer, purposefully blocking the sun from bearing down on the blonde. “you might love it at first,” the way he gazed unamused at teddy, words so dry, made it almost seem like he wasn’t talking about bahama mamas. it was hard to tell. “but you get real tired of it after that.” he gently kicked sand up at teddy’s feet, subtly raising his brows. the loudest expression that julien found himself real funny at times.

the woman, oblivious to the hidden meaning in the words, laughed softly. “we’ll see.” he shook his head subtly and stepped out of the sun’s way, turning to look towards the ocean shore.

"alright. suit yourself."
