❝ Well, first of all... She's my wife. I never thought I'd find myself a wife until I met her, so I suppose you could guess how I feel about her. She's a special one, she really is. I've never met a woman so feisty and quick to put me in my place - and she does so well. She was the first love of my life and hopefully the last. She's given me two children who I will forever keep safe and happy. She gives me affection and love when needed, but also gives me space when needed, too. She's saved my ass, as well. If it wasn't for her, I'd be six feet under or rotting away in a lake or something. She'll forever have my respect; she is a Moray now, after all.❞

❝ Oh God, don't make me talk about him... He's nothing more than a cocky little kid with a foul attitude; he makes my blood boil. Everything I do, it seems like I do it wrong according to Brendan. It all started when he gave me a hard time after I tried to help him - what even is the aversion to guns? Those things literally keep us safe here. When the Bonifacios attacked, no fuckin' - what's it called? - stick? Spear? Staff? Yeah whatever, that didn't keep the Lodge safe. Our fucking rifles kept everyone safe... But, he did safe my children's life that day, as well as Henry and Ida's. It pains me to say that I'm grateful Brendan's around, else those four kids may have not been so lucky. ❞

He's too chilled out. Too relaxed and so quickly making himself at home... But, of course I'm gonna be paranoid. Some people out in that big bad world want to see my head on a damn silver platter - how do I know he'd not yet another one in that crowd? I guess it's not a problem, though. I'll just keep an eye on him, get to know him better. Hey, maybe we'd be great friends in the future. If he is out here with malice intent, however... He better learn quickly that four Stirling-Morays are a little scarier than a single Grant, 'ey? ❞

That shit just never happens in my family; we stick together as family and never let anybody else into our lives, I guess. Harrison is great though, honestly. He's basically an honorary Stirling-Moray at this point, my brother's all love him. And Ida. Oh my God, you have no idea how often she goes on and on about Harrison. Overall, he's a breath of fresh air, I guess. He's soft whilst I'm... Well... Not. He's kind and seems to really enjoy life - it's nice to see. He's just such a great guy. I'd protect him with my life if need be. ❞

Well, I was convinced for the longest of times. See, they're pretty close... Too close for my liking. But, perhaps I'm just jealous. I don't really want to lose Blake, especially not to Michael. We had to go on a trip together earlier this year - Blake made me go - and we began talking about her. I genuinely didn't expect Michael to give me the confidence to propose to her; now that had been a surprise. I guess I'm glad for what he did for me... I'm still worried about him, but I guess there's nothing to really worry about anymore, hey? ❞

What they didn't see, however, was that he was the first man I'd ever... Y'know... Been with. It was casual, no strings attached, but he helped me learn so much about myself in that time. He'll always be a good friend to me, regardless of our history, and he'll never know how glad I am to have met him. He helped me make sense of myself. People rarely have that effect on me. It was good whilst it lasted - short but sweet... But, nobody knows of this, all right? Him and I are friends. Just friends. ❞

I think she's definitely warmed up to me over time though, especially since we work so well together, which has been nice to see. Our friendship is strange as its based off of circumstance and yet it still feels like quite a close bond. We're only friends because we both live in Flintlock, only close because we work as a team, and yet I do think that I'm very genuinely fond of her. I think there's a sort of nonverbal agreement between us that if one of us died, we'd take care of each other's children. Plus the fact that I'm pretty certain there's something going on between her and my brother. You never know; maybe some day she'll be my sister-in-law or something. ❞
