[div style="width: 260px; min-height: 270px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; color: #000"]After what had happened less than a week ago, she'd wanted to call the wedding off or postpone it. Gavril hadn't wanted to influence her decision since it was her special day, but Cat wanted her to go through with it. Austin was going to love and support her either way, and she loved him for that.
She'd ended up deciding not to cancel it. Too much would need shuffling and rearranging, and she wanted to do it before the weather shifted towards autumn. The casino was the obvious place to do this, but after all the horrible things that had been there, she didn't want to have something that was good and happy taking place there.
So they were on the beach. It was a pretty warm day, and Molly couldn't say she envied the men (and Cat) walking around in suits. Her dress was hardly cool, but it wasn't as heavy nor as dark. Her dress was simple, floor-length with detailing only on the neckline, sleeves and belt.
People from the Badlands and invited groups were still assembling outside of the casino (whether she liked it or not, it was the best suited location for the assembly and reception), but a few were already loitering around the beach, claiming chairs or just admiring the beautiful day. A few came up to her and wished her well or asked what they should be doing, and she'd just sent two NPCs off when Cat walked over to her.
"Everything's going smoothly." They murmured, sticking their hands into the pocket of their jacket. It was mercifully unadorned; fortunately she didn't have to fight as hard for that as she did at Hayley's wedding. They had a book tucked under their arm, with flags on certain pages. "All your guests are here and your party or whatever is getting ready in the hotel."
Molly smiled at her child and nodded. "That's great." The stresses that came with getting married again were... different. She wasn't as nervous in general, but now instead of worrying about families not getting along, she got to worry about groups not getting along. A fight here could have massive consequences and fall out, nevermind her renewal potentially being ruined. She eyed the bible under their arm and smirked at them. "It doesn't burn, does it?"
The immediate flood of irritation on their face and the accompanying eye roll was beyond worth it. "Oh shut up." What, they could make jokes but she couldn't? "You realize how ironic it is to have me do the reading?" Because of the cult they had been in, because they had been worshiped as a god? And blaspheming was the least of their crimes.
"I don't think ironic is the word I'd use." After a pause, Molly placed a hand on Cat's arm. "There's no one I'd rather do this but you."
They sighed and bobbed their head in acceptance. "Okay, Mama." They glanced at something she couldn't see over her shoulder, then returned their attention back to her. "Dad's coming." There was a warning in their voice, giving her the chance to leave if she wanted to.
She waved a hand dismissively. "We've already seen each other today." And then Austin was joining them, placing one hand at the small of her back.
"How's it going over here?" He asked, that same old smile lighting up his face when his eyes landed on her.
Molly leaned into him, resting her head against his shoulder. "Good. How are things at the casino?"
Austin glanced over his shoulder for a moment. "I think we'd better let them sit down before they try to eat all the food."
"I'll bring them over. You guys find the others and finish getting ready." Cat said before she could say anything. She gave them a grateful nod, then headed back to the hotel to try and find her bridesmaids. It didn't take long to find them at all, they were where they should be.
"You all look stunning." Molly said, realizing only at that moment that all of her bridesmaids were young enough to be her daughter. One of them even called her mom, and was holding Molly's granddaughter.
"You look so divine." Jordan said, not a single hint of disingenuousness in her voice.
Molly smiled and ducked her head. "Thank you. I think it's about time for us to get out there." Her nerves were starting to catch up with her, but she would just have to manage. The five of them (including Mo) headed down and out onto the beach. By the time they got within sight, everyone had already taken their seats and Austin was there waiting.
Mo got passed off to Creed, who helped her spread flower petals over the aisle. Hayley passed her a bouquet, and then it was time.
