Dallas liked drawing. She wasn't especially good, but she wasn't horrible. Most of her doodles were relatively careless, often on her own arm or somewhere she wasn't supposed to be drawing. Michael didn't draw very often, but when he did it was alright. He always took much more care in his art than Dallas, each stroke being well-thought out and precise. If he practiced more, he'd probably be much better, but as it was he seldom drew anything.

She had been dragging him around the Lodge and surrounding area, ending up by chance at the same time as Eloise, Hayley and Brendan, appearing in time to catch part of the conversation. "You can't trust boys in general." She declared, not really meaning it at all. Michael rolled his eyes and leaned against a beam while she walked over to Eloise. "Is your dog friendly?" She loved animals, and could be content to just pet or even just watch animals all day. For his part, Michael stayed back and stayed silent.

[B][I]The dream that you wish will come true
She was in the barn, sitting against the door that went to the stall of her calves with Brutus laying next to her. There was a drawing pad in her lap, one she had brought with her from her last group. She didn't use it much, but today she was in the mood to use it. It sat flat on her lap, easy for anyone to see what she was drawing. Well, it was so much as a what but a who, though she wasn't exactly hoping for anyone to come into the barn. Actually, it was more she didn't think someone would come close enough to her to see it since it wasn't like she was sitting against a stall with horses, which was usually why people came in.

Brutus had stayed closer to her than normal recently, her guess was that he still wasn't too glad he couldn't go to the wedding with her. He would usually do like...small rounds about the barn, sometimes even going outside and doing rounds around the barn but he had stayed right next to her. He was a rather scary seeming dog, between being a German Shepard and his scars, but to El he was a sweetheart so she never found him as scary as others did.

Her protective companion's head turned to the entrance of the barn, growling once the person got what he deemed as too close to Eloise. She'd glance over to him and giggle [b]"Brutus it's okay, it's a public place" she told him, her hand putting down the pencil to pet him in hopes to calm him down. It was probably someone coming in for a horse, not like it was someone who shouldn't be there. Definitely a good reason she didn't bring him to the wedding (if she even could've). He would not have liked all the strangers.

// the picture she's drawing if anyone gets close enough: it's a profile of gabe with a flower (the same he gave her at the wedding) behind his ear.

[align=center][div style="width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: calibri; font-size: 8pt; color: black; line-height: 22px;"]☁  eloise was... well, she was a sweet girl, but hayley couldn't say she loved the girl's habits. she wasn't exactly armed, not as far as hayley knew, but she seemed persistent on remaining outside of the lodge, rather than within, where an eye could be kept on her. fourteen was at the brink, between child and adult, and while some, like brendan, were firmly on the adult side, guarded and jaded from the years, hayley left eloise up in the air. not a full resident, but also not a child; in other words, she wasn't sent on patrols, but she also didn't need to be babysat.

of course, hayley did her best to check up on her as often as she could. make sure the girl was staying warm, eating enough. that was what brought hayley into the stables that afternoon, carrying a thermos in one hand, the other tucked into her pocket. brutus growled, but hayley was unfazed; while she liked dogs, she was perhaps a little too confident in how she'd fare in the fight against him. after all, she had knives and the shotgun over her shoulder, while he had teeth. she didn't want to ever be in a position to be pit against a dog, but if it ever came down to it, hayley was willing to bet on herself.

❝oh hush,❞ she dismissed as she moved towards eloise, stopping beside her to offer her the thermos, and out of her pocket retrieving a small tupperware bowl of food for brutus. ❝i figured you guys might be hungry, so soup and kibble.❞ she explained, her eyes catching the paper and a brow quirking. ❝i didn't know you liked to draw. i'm awful at art, but jackson likes to do... art stuff.❞ she mused, recalling his sketch of her, and the stick-figure she'd done of him. ❝you're good-❞ but hayley knew gabe, for better or worse. he seemed like an alright kid, but at the end of the day, he was a badlander. kid or not, he couldn't be trusted. ❝who's that?❞ she inquired, glancing to eloise's features with a look of knowing behind veiled curiosity, curious if the girl would admit the truth.

Hearing that it was Hayley, she shook her head at Brutus. He was usually okay with the older woman, maybe he was angry with her? Eloise looked over at her as she came over [b]"He's usually happy to see you...I think he's upset still that he couldn't go to the wedding." she explained with a small smile "He'll get over it soon though, don't worry" [i]"i figured you guys might be hungry, so soup and kibble." "Oh sorry, did we miss a meal?" she never knew or really realized how long she stayed out there.

Then again, that probably wasn't the best thing seeing as her protection was Brutus and a small knife. She didn't like hurting people, but she did carry it just to make people...less uneasy with her going to the barn. Though she had a feeling if anyone posed a threat it would be Brutus who'd deal the damage.

"Yeah...I do. I used to draw a lot but this is all I've ever had to draw in, so I don't want to use it all" she explained, it was mostly full, though there was a good amount until it would be full. She tended to fit multiple things on one page, which had definitely made it last longer. When Hayley asked about who she was drawing, El's face got a pink shade to it, that easily blushing over it. "U-Um, I met him at your wedding" her voice got rather quiet, a small smile on her face thinking about it.

"His name's Gabe, he was really nice"
