He has a wife named Susanna, as well as a son named Louie and twin daughters Vivian and Lilian. For a period of time he also took in someone previously named Scott, however he rebranded them as Catalyst. Derick is the leader of the cult Mourningstar, and believes that the world is ending because of Catalyst, the central figure and god of their "religion".
Derick has a wild imagination and often has trouble distinguishing between what he imagines to be real and what is truly real. Every so often he has lucid moments, but they only cause him to dig in his heels even more, because it makes him aware of his status and everything he has to lose. He will do anything to recruit new people to Mourningstar and keep them in the cult, and will also do anything to prove his, the cult's and Catalyst's credibility. He's manipulative and ruthless and sees no problem with destroying the world since it's all ending anyway.

She has a husband named Derick, a son named Louie and twin daughters Vivian and Lilian. She also took in Scott/Catalyst for a time. She belongs to the cult of Mouringstar. She joined mainly because of pressure from her husband, though over time became just as devout as anyone else.

He's the son of Derick and Susanna, and the brother of Vivian and Lilian, and for a brief time considered himself something of an older brother to Scott before their rebranding. He is a member of the cult Mourningstar and is incredibly deep in his beliefs, rejecting any and all notions that they are false regardless of where it comes from.
He is an alcoholic that spends most of his time in bars or wherever he can get a drink, and this has been the case for years. He is insecure and defensive, and doesn't take corrections or criticisms well.
