merlin didn’t exactly enjoy getting up so early, but.. it was to wake arthur and make sure he was ready for the day, and he enjoyed sleepy arthur. merlin hummed ans gently flicked the males ear. “no, arthur. if let you sleep in a little of it was any other day, but you have a lot to do today.” he said gently and smiled. “now get up.”

[peridot.]

Arthur made a soft grumbling noise and rolled over a bit to glare at Merlin, "Don't I always have a lot to do every day?" Still, he slowly pushed himself to sit up, sighing as he pushed the blankets off of himself and prodded Merlin's cheek.

[dannychan]

he hummed. “well, you have more than usual with that whole ball thing that’s being planned. remember, our allies want to meet their new king and this is a hug event.”

[peridot.]

A heavy sigh left Arthur, and he mumbled as he scrubbed at his eyes, "I can't wait to disappoint all of our allies. I hope none of them ask me about a wife, like everybody else..."

[dannychan]

he hummed. “oh, you’re not that bad of asking. besides, you’re still new.”

[peridot.]

Arthur smiled weakly and said, sighing, "I wish I could believe that. I can't help but feel like I'm going to bring the entire kingdom down with me some times."

[dannychan]

he hummed. “you won’t.” he said gently.

[peridot.]

He smiled a bit and chuckled, getting to his feet and gently reaching up to mess up Merlin's hair, saying with a hum, "You do make me feel a bit more confident~... Now, where's my breakfast?"

[dannychan]

he hummed. “in the dining room. i want you up and awake while you start the day, alright?@ he said.

It had been a while since Arthur had become king, and honestly he was getting used to the usual daily routine of everything. He could do without all the subjects and basically everybody asking him when he was going to get married and have an heir, but other than that, life was mostly just making sure that the kingdom was happy and safe, and... Spending time with Merlin. He'd never admit it to anyone - outside of Gwen - but the time he got to spend with Merlin was probably his favorite. Except for in the mornings, because Merlin was always the one making him up. He had been sleeping peacefully and happily, dreaming of, well, probably Merlin, but then the blinds were being opened, and the other's unreasonably cheery morning voice was hitting him. Rolling over to bury his face in his pillow, he grumbled at Merlin, "Leave and come back in a day, alright...? That sounds good to me..."
