[glow=grey,2,300]JONATHAN CROW -- TAGS[/glow]
The mine sounded of distant echoes, and the whispers of dripping water droplets splattering against cold stone. Jonathan gazed into the darkness, penetrated by shafts of afternoon sunlight that cascaded from a sharp, jagged crag in the ceiling. The cavern itself was large, and far enough from the village that any screaming wouldn't reach up the mountain to snag the attention of the local residents. It would be the perfect location for his lab. Nostrils flared as he drew in a heaving breath of satisfaction, blinking chilled eyes before turning back toward the shadowed entrance, a square opening carved into frosted rock, supported by old wooden beams. Jonathan wondered how long those would last. Composing himself, and wiping the satisfactory smile from his features, he wrapped his face with a stoic expression and stepped out into the crunch of the ice. Sunlight dazzled his eyes after so much time spent in the dark, and he had to pause to readjust to the brightness before carrying onward toward the village. He arrived by late afternoon, his dark ski jacket dusted with snow flurries, frost clinging to leather boots with every step. Icky, his crow, was probably missing him. He had been gone for a few hours, which was quite a long time, to be sure. Slipping back into the village, Jonathan held back a tired yawn and carried on toward his cabin, the streets spreading out before him.
