okay so honestly i love angst (i think this is well established) and i love character romance, but. it always just ends with one or both characters going inactive/dying/being dropped. and like? i live for that awkward tension of exes. i want the drama and the heartache and the longing that comes when everythings over and they're just left with the pieces.
my basic thought was that the two of them were outsiders where they grew up. for whatever reason, neither really "caught on" with other people, and when they were teenagers they ended up just sort of falling into each others paths? maybe they had chores together, or they ended up sitting together at dinner. whatever happened, they sort of fell in love and got married at eighteen, running away from the group they were raised in.
a few years (5-10?) passed and eventually, things kind of... fell apart? neither did anything specific, but they grew up and into different people, and it just stopped working. they separated, started seeing other people, but generally stuck together and moved around together because they grew so used to having each other around i guess? and like they still stayed friends.
cut to the present, they join a group together and like,,, we go from there ig? all the tension between them and the history and all that. we'd have to flesh out the details (history, how they changed, age, where they grew up, group they join, etc.) but i just,,,, rlly want this kind of tension? i'm honestly open to anything for their future - maybe there's still a lot of tension and unresolved feelings, maybe they get back together, maybe they get back together then separate again, maybe they become really good friends, i dunno. obviously, everything's on the table.
just let me know if you're interested and we can flesh it out further! i have a vague idea of the character i plan on using, but i'd love to hear whatever you're thinking of for them? and, just as a note, the character i'm playing is female - the opposite character can be male or female, but keep sexuality and gender in mind whilst doing so.
