Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for! Been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor! And buried in your bones there's an ache that you can't ignore, taking your breath, stealing your mind - and all that was real is left behind!
INTRODUCTION
welcome to north end! in a world where art has been put on the backburner, it grows here, being nursed back to health. north end to outsiders tends to be mysterious, a group of mask-wearing performers who appear and then disappear, but really, they're just like anyone else. this true good group has an emphasis on returning the arts to its former glory, while surviving in the new world as a team. between artists, actors, musicians or dancers, north end has a place for anyone and everyone interested in the arts.

TERRITORY
north end makes its home on an abandoned theater district. only three buildings remain, the rest just ruins slowly being overgrown by blackberries and other plant life. outside of their three buildings, a mixture of grassland and forests meets their eyes. a huge lake is where they get their water, along with fish and other watercreatures. there's a huge river that feeds into the lake, and it apparently leads towards mountains. they have a garden behind the stables, and it grows a hardy, stable variety of crops. they have a very even climate, not warm, not cold. winters and summers are hard to differentiate from each other, and that's probably why their instruments have lasted so long. in the first building (an old theater that has an old sign that might've said "broadhurst" at some point in time), there is a huge lobby that is used to hold art shows. deeper in, is a massive stage. there used to be lights, but now candles and natural sunlight have to replace it. underground in a warmer, even environment, there are rooms of costumes and orchestral instruments. many are out of tune or damaged, but these instruments can be fixed. the second building is another theater (named the paramount), but this one is used more for living. the stage is smaller and more decrepit, now used for a socializing area and meetingplace instead of performing. there are rooms available if you're willing to share with others. the third building is the stables. this is a heavily-patched area, but it was meant originally for animals. currently, seven cows that are used to transport props and people live there, though there could be the capacity for more cows, or horses. in all three buildings, a cat colony wanders. they're feral, but some are nice enough to let you pet them. don't get near their kittens, however.

TRADITIONS
↠ masks north end has an interesting tradition. they believe that the audience needs to be in the dark for everything until the performances. the curtain between actors and audience is represented by the masks. nobody outside of their own group sees the members of north end without their masks on. when they meet strangers on the border, when visiting other groups for alliances or performances, the masks stay strictly on until a performance. when newcomers join, the first thing they do when arriving in camp is to create (or choose) their mask that they will keep with them until they leave, die, or the mask is damaged. broken masks are considered bad luck to the wearer, but can be replaced.
↠ auditions the only way to become a member of north end is by auditioning. after choosing their masks, auditionees are asked to display their skills in any way they can, whether it be through dance, art, acting, or singing. after this, they take part in a celebration where remove their mask with the rest of north end at the end of the party, sealing their place with the group.
↠ art shows north end is home to art and artists alike. often, they will use their lobby in the theater to hold art shows displaying art of those from the past, and new pieces that their artists have done! occasionally, the art is for sale or trade.
↠ traveling performances to remind people of the art that could've been lost (and, to do something other than perform in front of themselves), north end visits allies and neutrals, putting on performances in great variety. they plan these performances (about four each season) in great detail. this is their purpose, this is north end's finest work.
↠ the masquerade once a season, north end will put on a masquerade ball for all groups. the only requirements: you need to have a mask, you need to put your differences at the door, and you should avoid telling others what group you're from. it's a time where you can really brush aside rivalries, and just enjoy a night. north end provides masks, but making your own is acceptable, too.
↠ classes north end is happy to teach others about art. if requested, north end will teach classes about certain subjects to their fellow groups (often for free). the only requirement is that they cannot be an enemy, and they will have to travel to north end territory so they can have all of their equipment in one place.

RANKS
↠ composer north end's leader. they're in charge of overviewing the season's events, and make general decisions about performances that can be elaborated as the plans solidify. currently, north end's composer is evan harkness, played by crows.
↠ conductor the second in command, the conductor knows how to delegate. they tweak and streamline ideas from the composer, and help to manage alliances, events, and newcomers. often, they actually conduct during musical performances.
↠ director made up by three well-experienced persons, directors are in charge of actually getting the performances into shape. they are diplomats, planning with other groups to lay plans down flat.
↠ muse these people are well-versed in healing. delicate hands (and often more on the artistic side) and a careful eye make sure that north end is kept safe and helathy. this is is an unlimited rank, but you need to be well-learned.
↠ choreographer this rank is taken by two people: both creative dancers that know how to plan and teach well. additionally, they take the role of "generals," planning methods of attacks and raids to maximize damage, and minimize bloodshed (on both ends).
↠ artist the staple rank in north bend. "artist" is a vague term that encompasses everyone that lives here. auditionees become artists automatically after receiving their masks.
↠ auditonee are the newcomers. these people are only in this rank for a day at most, however long it takes for them to find their mask and join the group. artists of north end cannot take their mask off in front of them until the end of the audition. those under suspicion/investigaton of serious crimes are often demoted to this rank, to properly exclude them from the group.

POLITICS
north end is a true good group, choosing to align themselves with those who aren't actively raiding/manipulating other groups. if they notice a group particularly picked on, they'll often send help. they choose to not strike first, and any allies who perform raids needlessly will be removed from their alliances. they don't attack people, north end prefers to strike supplies and buildings, destroying and crippling without shedding blood. they often wear masks during these strikes so they aren't easily recognizable.
    ↠ allies n/a
↠ neutrals anyone not listed on allies or enemies.
    ↠ enemies n/a

RULES
↠ respect others. anyone actively causing drama (especially during rehearsals) will be punished accordingly.
↠ anyone caught trying to undermine leadership will be punished. unnecessarily killing someone, causing rifts between groups, or any kind of harassment will be punished. repeated instances will end in you being banished.
↠ take your role (whether it be on stage, with an instrument, with ballet shoes or a paint brush), and respect it. you are retracing the footsteps of the people who came before you, and rewriting the path for future generations.
↠ your mask is your red curtain between your fellow arists and the audience. respect it. wear it with pride. don't let the illusion fade, otherwise the audience will lose the magic.
↠ do not plan performances, art shows, balls, or classes without a leader's permission.
↠ there is magic in what you make. be proud of it, be made by it. let it consume you, and love it without reservation.
↠ anyone caught destroying art, costumes, scripts, sheet music, instruments, or art supplies will be automatically banished and removed from north end, no questions asked.
