When the family held parties, especially one with kids around, her nieces and nephews always were put to bed in the Rossi children's old bedrooms. One room would usually be kept for guest's kids, but it was never Penny's because for some reason her nephews preferred hers (and her nieces were too little to have a say). She helped bring the kids to bed, which looked silly since she was dressed nicely and the children in their comfortable clothes.
"Goodnight boys - and remember, right to sleep so you don't wake the baby next door" "Okay Zia" She smiled and shut the door behind her, heading back downstairs where she could hear the murmurs of people talking. When the kids were told to invite whoever they wanted they didn't hesitate to do so, even offered for them to invite others. It wasn't too often their parents had parties anymore.
She walked down and stole a half-empty bottle of wine, rejoining the crowd of the party in their Boston home. " Penny, dear, did you put those children to bed? I thought you'd be with one of those boys-" "Ma, Nonna said to leave me alone." She snapped, drinking from her bottle as she was quick to run away from her mom. Instead, making her way to one of the rooms that had no one really in it and taking a seat on the couch and crossing her legs - Nonna raised her to be a damn lady in a dress.
Even if she wasn't acting like one personality-wise.
There was an ashtray on the coffee table, for her father and his friends or a brother, but it seemed no one had really been in there tonight. Not that she minded, though any sound of incoming footsteps gained her attention to at least glance over. "If your related to me and you're here to yell - don't bother. If you're here for company - come on in" she muttered, drinking from the bottle before setting it on the table near the ashtray.
She had seen people she knew at the beginning of the night - when she was constantly pulled by toddlers since her brothers felt she and Lore were like built-in babysitters for the night. But she hadn't seen anyone since and well, she needed someone to talk to. Even if it just meant sitting around and drinking or smoking.
"Sit, I don't bite...well, okay but I'd be more inclined to punch and I won't so sit."
