What would you like to see in TNW?

Welcome to our newest discussion thread on The New World. We are invested in making your ideas a reality in order to further build and develop the game but, before we can do that, we'd like to hear from you about what direction you would like to see the game go in!

Firstly, I'd like to quickly go over some ideas that we are thinking of implementing in order to see what everyone is most interested in.

— We are still considering the use of alternative renewable energy sources such as steam power.
— Update the Loner Lands and encourage the use of that board. Add different territories within the Loner Lands. Create NPC groups for characters to communicate with.
— Monthly events and challenges for TNW to help with muse and character building (for example, small scale natural disasters or an NPC group needing assistance)
— Adding a currency into the game so that there is an option for characters to buy items instead of solely bartering and trading.

We are very interested in some feedback as well as other ideas that you may have for the game!

i think it would be rlly interesting to see steam power being used, especially when it comes to stuff like trains!!

it would be nice to have events too, something to bring people together and plot stuff. maybe there could be a monthly point system?? i used to be on this traditional wc site where each month groups would make threads to give their groups points, and at the end of each month, the group with the least amount of points had some sort of bad event happen. we could also have something good for the group with the most points

Honestly, I love this idea, and it would be a fun way to encourage activity across the game! This will definitely be something that staff will discuss, and we will see if we can implement this somehow in the near future!

As for where the staff team are at with these changes, this is what we have done so far:

— We are in the process of discussing the use of alternative renewable energy sources! We will update you once we have a solid answer.
— We are currently discussing how feasible it would be to add a currency into the game. At the moment, we agree that if we do bring a currency into the game, it would be entirely user-run. You won't need to purchase money for your characters using bones, but you will be expected to be realistic in how much money your character has based on a variety of factors.
