however, upon entering the lounge, the tension in the air makes her glad she has the buffer. she knows there's more to be said about the murder, so joey takes to acting like the loving new mom to avoid suspicion. she could sell it for a few minutes, right? so, she settles in a spot on the couch, front and center so everyone could see her. she swallows hard and tries to look down at her child with awe.

— freddie enjoyed the idea of getting to be a detective on the case. it wouldn't be the first time freddie went around flintlock casually accusing someone of crimes they didn't commit. it kept the lodge fresh and full of adventure around every corner once people started pointing fingers, quite honestly. besides, it was the first time someone had died and it wasn't freddie or any of his relatives - that he knew of. that was enough to keep the young man on his toes. he shifted around and made himself comfortable at a chair, lifting his feet up on some nearby furniture as he awaited the recent news.
