Maise was so tired right now, she hadn't slept in a few nights, and the obvious affects of sleep deprivation were quite evident on her face. Her dark eyes roved the dark room she was in skeptically, she really should light a candle or something, but it was too much effort. She was exhausted, mentally and physically.

But she wanted to pay a visit to the lodge, she hadn't been up there in quite some time, being contented with the village. Stepping out into the brightness of the outdoors, she squinted, god it was bright out. The trek up to the lodge was a bit tedious, but she ended up arriving close to noon. It was a nice day out. Not to cold, not to hot.

Slipping onto the porch, the young woman looked about for any signs of life. God how she wished she could take a nap right now, if only she could actually fall asleep.

— rich had yet to decide where he preferred to spend his days. both the lodge and the village had their own list of pros and cons. there was more to do in the village, though rich had to say he preferred the quiet and slow life around the lodge more days than not. on days he didn’t spend busying himself at the village, he chose to relax and unwind in various places around the lodge.

he watched nonchalantly from a chair on the porch as maisie wandered up towards the lodge. he couldn’t say he had seen her in a while - though the times they ran into each other seemed to be few and far between. still, as rarely as they crossed paths, there was still something different about maise that was quite easy to place.

“hey, maise,” he greeted, not waiting too long before saying, “how are you? you look tired.” rich couldn’t be blamed for stating the obvious there.

Maisie felt a shiver run down her spine as she heard the voice of Rich, she hadn't even noticed him! Oops. Perhaps it was because of how tired she was. The young woman smiled as brightly as she could at the man. Honestly, she wondered how long he'd been there before he's spoken. "Hi. I-" She paused for a few moments, thinking about what she was going to say instead of just babbling on about next to nothing.

"-I am tired. I haven't had a good nights sleep in a while. How are you?" She added, a trifle awkwardly, not wanting to sound rude. But at the same time, having genuinely forgotten manners for a brief second and almost not inquiring after Richard's well being after she told him about hers... well or lack thereof. "And umm, what're you up to?" She added even more awkwardly.
