Alfie hissed, leaning back against the couch where he sat on the carpet, carding fingers through his hair. Silently, Ed’s body rattled as he chuckled to himself, shifting through his wad of cash before handing it to Dominik to put into the bank. ❝ Of course I’m buying it. Sorry, Alfie. ❞ Ed hummed quietly, taking the orange card for New York Avenue and keeping it for himself.

Alfie hissed before pushing Ed away with his foot, Ed huffing quietly with amusement, with Frank cocking a brow over towards his two brothers before lowering his gaze to the board again. ❝ Okay, so…‌ Nik, you’re next. ❞ Dominik tipped his chin up, before pursing his lips in silence, taking a sip of his liquor for rolling the dice.

❝ That lands you in jail. ❞ Ed commented smugly, taking a sip of his own drink as icy eyes curiously watched Dominik, only for the oldest brother to begin to laugh, ❝ Just because you're winning now doesn't mean we won't pummel your monopoly to the ground later, you smug asshole. ❞ Ed shook his head slowly, finally cracking a small smile.

hayley wasn't dense, and she wasn't young, which lead to the brunette having played monopoly plenty of times in her life. monopoly, sorry, scrabble, life; all the good games that got better with booze. of course, playing such games usually ended with someone having a black eye, someone crying, and someone storming off. sometimes they were all the same person, sometimes they were everyone. board games, hayley had learned early on in life, got very messy.

    The boys were quick to lift their heads upon hearing Brendan question what they were doing. Ed lowered his gaze again, quickly neatening up the stacks of money as Hayley began talking, Alfie pointing at the leader with a wicked grin before announcing, ❝ That's right! ❞ He said before leaning over and playfully punching Frank's shoulder, Frank's nose shriveling up before swatting his older brother away. ❝ Asshole... ❞ Frank uttered.

Her next words caused the tiniest of smug smiles to reach Ed's lips as he continued neatening all the cards piles on the table, Dominik shaking his head slowly before looking over at Hayley. ❝ Somebody's gotta - he's getting a big head again. ❞ Frank began to laugh at the remark, before Alfie piped up loudly, ❝ Nah, nah, nah - you know what? Do you two wanna play a board game with us? [i]Not monopoly. I'm getting bored of this shit anyway. ❞[/i] He quirked a brow at Brendan before glancing at Hayley. Frank frowned slightly in thought before adding as a side note, ❝ We're all pretty shit at board games, so there won't be much competition if that's what you're after. ❞

— harrison had played board games all the time when he was younger. he would never say that he was the best, but he also liked to blame it on the excuse that he just didn’t have as much luck as everyone else. when he wandered into the living room to see the stirling-morays playing monopoly, it seemed pretty clear that someone was a bit luckier than the others with the roll of the dice.

he listened to the conversation as he stepped through the doorway, deciding to lean against the wall and listen with both interest and amusement. it felt like it had been so long since he had played a board game, nonetheless watched. it brought back a sense of nostalgia that he hadn’t known he had been missing.

“can i play?” he piped up, glancing among the brothers before making his way closer towards the group. “i’m not that great at board games, either- maybe you won't be last place.” with that he glanced at the monopoly board before asking, softly, "what other games do we have?"

    Ed's eyes flitted over towards Alfie, lips parting after Brendan's words and just expecting Alfie to retort back so astonished. And, sure enough, Alfie's jaw dropped, shaking his head slowly before throwing his body back to lean against the side of the sofa. ❝ Somebody teach this kid a thing or two about fun! ❞ Alfie exclaimed, playfully exasperated before holding his head in his hands. Frank began laughing, shifting in his seat before looking over at Brendan. ❝ It's fine. Honestly. ❞ ❝ Is it? Is it really?! ❞ Alfie sighed, only for Dominik to kick him lightly.

❝ Sure. ❞ Ed responded to Harrison as he entered the room, tipping his head to gesture the other man to come on over. ❝ We could play... Guess Who, or something easy like that. ❞ Frank suggested, Alfie snorting. ❝ Guess Who?! ❞ ❝ It's a good start for someone like Brendan who's never played a board game before. ❞ Ed pointed out.
