And I can definitely tell you all my thoughts on episode one:

I know some people were too scared to get their hopes up in fear of being let down hard because Babylonia isn't being handled by ufotable, but in my opinion, episode one was brilliant. The way every character was introduced was perfect. The fact that Gilgamesh was introduced through that scene, taken straight from the Epic itself, is so powerful. Because we all know this douche-bag from Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works) and never once does he show any sort of emotional vulnerability. He's pretty much been known for his loud, pretentious laugh/conduct and for his pride of his treasury and godliness. This is the king who murdered people for daring to even gaze upon him or "grace themselves by being in his presence" without his permission.

But I think this is the very first time a lot of people will see Gilgamesh forgetting about all of that as he's hunched over in the middle of a storm, not an ounce of his usual arrogance or regal bearing in the lines of his back and shoulders. It was pouring, he's kneeling in mud, jewels, finery, expensive-ass clothing be damned. The king who sees everyone else as a "mongrel" and far beneath him, holding his dearest friend and companion - the only friend he ever had in his life, and no matter how many times his friend insisted he was only a tool, Gilgamesh would always correct them and remind them of their value. And there, in the pouring rain, in the dirt, the King of Heroes just sits there holding the best treasure life had ever bestowed upon him - and he watches, as they crumble away in his arms and return to the earth from which they were formed.

Starting the show out with that is a powerful assertion of dominance, and I'm 100% here for it. I'm so thrilled that they took this chance to humanize him, and to pull it off so beautifully in a scene that was only 30-40 seconds long - they've earned my respect. I'm definitely looking forward to future episodes. <3

LOL I'll hold off on my thoughts for the Camelot movies then... just be prepared when that time comes, because I'm absolutely going to go off on all of you about Holmes, Ozymandias, King Arthur, Bedivere, Hassan-i-Sabbah, Sanzang Xuanlang, and everybody else that appeared in that Singularity.
