- dont cry, it’s only been a year since you’ve done any writing, just write like a normal person

[justify]I still don’t think I’m ready to join, and it’s too late to write a big oneshot with the risk of losing it since I’m on my phone and my laptop is dead. So I’m gonna list out some facts about Lucas’ canon story in this and some lame modern AU facts I came up with.

Lucas’ mother is dead, and shortly after her death his brother went missing, most likely to avenge her, or to get out of the village and actually grow rather than be coddled. He wanted to work for his food, he wanted to hunt and fight and grow stronger, he didn’t want everything to be handed to him. Lucas had the oppertunitu to join him, but Lucas was scared and didn’t want to leave his father behind.

Lucas’ father Flint always made it fairly obvious that he cared about Claus more than he cared for Lucas. He still had that fatherly love for Lucas, but he loved that Claus was determined and showed promise of one day becoming a fighter. It became more obvious when Claus disappeared. Lucas never told his father that Claus left, so Flint assumed Claus got lost and goes out on trips to attempt to find any sign of his son, these trips usually last from a few days to a few weeks.

The small village that Lucas lived in resides in a forest, they have a pest problem, snakes and rats riddle the place but they never cause massive issues. The village relies on hunting and doesn’t trade, they’re pretty much self reliant.

Lucas doesn’t know how his mother died, he didn’t even see her body. His father doesn’t tell him either.

When Lucas leaves the village, he tells himself that he’s leaving to find his father and help him search for Claus, but he’s actually more pushed to leave because he wants to be strong too, like his brother did. Lucas is definitely not strong though, he could never actually fight someone, the worst he could do is push the person away or give hit them with a stick. The stick could probably draw blood, if it did Lucas would probably feel terrible about it.

Some modern things:

Lucas would’ve played coolmath until he was 7, his brother would probably introduce him to minecraft when he turned 8. They would’ve had a little realm where they would play together, and Flint would reluctantly pay for it.

Eventually Claus would probably get bored and steal all of Lucas’ stuff, just to poke fun at his brother. Once he discovers TNT he would probably destroy Lucas’ house, which would make him cry. Claus would have to beg Lucas not to tell Flint because he’d probably get grounded.

As he grows in Flintlock, and learns more about fighting and being more independent, Lucas would probably grow out of his frail state and become more determined and courageous, much like his brother. One trait he would keep though his his kindness and belief in others. Even after learning about the cruelty of people and seeing the pain they bring, he would still see the best in people, and try to help them if they’re hurt, even if they may be allied with the same people who hurt his friends.

Knowing he grew up with the bravery of his brother, and the kindness that his mother always told him to be proud of would’ve made you feel Lucas really happy.

Eventually, within a year or so, if I stay with Lucas, he will probably take a small trip back home. He’ll probably find the village almost abandoned, but maybe he’ll reunite his father for a bit and get some closure.

Also he’d probably still not be a great fighter, but he’d be less scared of people and would be more willing to defend himself when it really comes down to it.

[justify]Flint wasn’t really a bad father, he cared for Lucas a lot, he just cared about Claus a bit more and couldn’t live with losing two family members. Lucas only left him because he felt a little neglected and eventually felt like he wanted to be braver too and no longer be coddled and constantly looked after. He wanted a little independence. That feeling probably doesn’t last too long though, probably within a few days of his journey to find a group to stay with he’d realize the weight of what he did and realize that there’s no turning back, he’d  probably meltdown over it and become even more dependant then he already was, not that he really grew out of that dependency too much.

Lucas oneshot ideas:
- write about when he finally decides to leave home and his journey. This would probably end up like a novel honestly but I think a bit of backstory is good for this kid.
- write about him reminiscing about his past with his brother and mother, and him regretting the mistakes he made in terms of those events.
- write about him crashing in what seems like an abandoned house for a bit and fining a dog. He cares for the dog until he realizes the house wasn’t abandoned and was actually occupied.
- lucas finds a stick and has an imaginary fight where he pretends he isn’t a fucking pussy.
- lucas modern au. Claus and him go mining and Claus kills him in minecraft. Just for a bit of weird motivation, idk minecraft gamers au makes me motivated to write actual things for lucas.

Joining thread ideas:
-he gets fucking lost and ends up at flintlock.
-he still thinks he’s following the trail his dad usually did whenever he went looking for Claus. He’s actually super far off and ends up at the lodge, where after being scared and nervous he caves in and begs to stay with them after the stress of his journey.

Lucas is nine and is turning ten on April 20th.

Lucas and Claus are twins, Claus is the older one though and he prides himself on that.

Claus is more mature and hardened while Lucas is closed off and often scared and nervous. Lucas wants to grow up to be like Claus was, tough and daring. He still has a long way to go.
