BULLETPROOF / introduction

Sigmund was... not quite prepared for the cold. He had thought he could handle it, but the sheer frigidness of the weather had been getting through to his bones lately. Of course, he would never admit it. For some reason he had always been too proud to admit when he felt less than his best. So for now, he had taken to hiding himself in the caves secluded in the territory, watching the snow fall from the inside. Frosty fingers still gripped him but he did his best to shake them off without actually getting any winter gear he needed to have.

The maned wolf hybrid had retreated into the deepest reach he was comfortable with of this particular cave. He could still see the dim grayness of the sky outside, a dreary kind of light that was characteristic of the winter months, but the wind couldn't quite reach him where he sat and he was grateful. It was still devilishly cold, but it wasn't so bad that he was chattering up a storm. Sigmund pawed at a stone on the ground. He had meant to bring a book, or perhaps even a friend, but he had forgotten both things and was now sitting in the cave by himself. Maybe he'd have to suck it up and just get his winter gear after all? As much as he enjoyed his time alone, this wasn't exactly the optimal situation. He rose.

Sigmund returned to camp looking slick. Somehow. He had chosen the least appalling gear out of the pile Videogames had scrounged up, which was a simple white coat and a black scarf. It didn't do much for his paws, but the options for those weren't something he was about to wear. He seated himself promptly near the edge of camp, his back to the wind. It was better than nothing, he supposed.

THEN WHO THE HELL WAS I?
Unlike a lot of people, Videogames was fond of the cold. He'd honestly been waiting for this for a while, now. He liked the gear(despite having to shed unnecessary accessories), the blankets, hot chocolate. It was a cozy time of the year!! This may be a little uncharacteristic of him, being a serval. But, serval he may be, it didn't stop him from enjoying diving head-first into the snow.
He understands other people don't share this opinion, though. Which really just means that Videogames has to work twice as hard to keep the people happy, which is fine with him, really. He was happy to start setting up hot chocolate stands or more clothes. He'd probably have to procure more blankets, too. ... Maybe something like a space heater for everybody. He's not sure. He'll have to think about it more.
... Sigmund, however, is a recognizable member. Videogames' ears prick as he takes in the canine's figure, and then stretches himself out. He looks fine. Fine in the 'could be better' sort of way. Which was a little sad, but also understandable.
...
After a moment of concentration, there's a thermos of hot chocolate in Videogames' paws. Did Sigmund like hot chocolate? He's not sure, but it wouldn't be hard for him to fetch a different drink.
"Hey, bro!" He greets, haphazardly swinging his front paws out to offer the thermos. In his attempt, he unbalances himself and lands in the snow with a soft thwump. He squawks loudly, scrabbling to lift himself out of it, still making panicked noises, then aggressively shakes his pelt free of the snow. Jesus, it's cold.
.. "D -- Do you want a hot chocolate? Or .. something else?" Videogames grins too widely in his attempt to play it off like it didn't happen. Well, at least he made an attempt.

He was quite fine. Maybe he looked a little sad, but he was fine. And not 'girl fine', either- he was truly at peace with his emotions, and the cold weather now that he had a coat, and oh, who was he kidding? Sigmund was miserable in the freezing cold, his ears pinned against his skull, every limb pressed close to his core. Even with the coat and the scarf, winter permeated through his fur to his very flesh. No, his teeth weren't chattering, but he felt that if the temperature dropped even one degree they would be. Something he would have liked was a proper house, but he wasn't certain that he'd seen a house in years. There certainly wasn't one in the territory. But blankets and space-heaters wouldn't satisfy him- he would always find something to complain about.

The canine had noticed Videogames in his peripherals but made no move to outwardly greet the serval. At least, not yet. Sigmund was busy being cold and feeling sorry for himself, after all. But then, the king's great tumble finally drew his attention, and he let out a bit of a hearty laugh, perhaps heartier than was appropriate. Oops.
"A hot chocolate sounds absolutely grand," he answered, realizing his reaction might have been a bit harsh. There were not too many people for whom he cared how they felt, but Videogames was one of them. They had become friends over the moons and it was a rare occasion for someone to be friends with the maned wolf. He didn't particularly like hot chocolate- he much preferred coffee, and felt that its sweet counterpart was more for children -but it was something warm to fend off the freezing weather.
"Thank you, friend. How's your winter going so far?"
Perhaps it was an uninteresting question, considering the Vale lived in such close quarters, but he was trying to fill up space with something, which was more effort than usual.

Yeah, Video would really need to figure out that not everyone was content living in a cave or something. Maybe he'd have to start restoring the village in Silver Woods sometime. Today, however, was not that day, and that day would not come until somebody actually told Video was was wrong. He wasn't really known for being observant, after all.
.. Rude. Videogames sticks out his tongue at Sigmund's laughter, and maybe he's just the slightest annoyed. A larger majority, however, is delighted at making Sigmund laugh. He likes making people laugh, even if it's at his own expense, like that was. And so, with eyes bright and tail sweeping, he reaches his paws out to gently drop the thermos next to Sigmund, before finally balancing on all four paws. For how frequently he had to use his front paws to do stuff, he sure as hell didn't have great balance on his back legs. Which is .. fine. Kind of to be expected, really. But still, annoying.
"It's going well!! I like the snow, but I've been kind of busy 'till now," He grins, generally unaware of Sigmund's discomfort.. Nothing better than spending time in the snow with your friends!! Hm. Oh, there was a thought! He tilts his head. "Maybe we should set up a fire pit later?" He says, more to himself than to Sigmund. That sounded nice. S'mores and hot chocolate and blankets!! What more could you need!! However, after a long moment spent daydreaming, Videogames physically, aggressively shakes his head free of his thoughts, eyes refocusing on Sigmund. "What about you, though?" He asks, with just a hint of concern in his voice. Not everyone was equipped to deal with the cold, after all. .. Though, Iron Shade was still warm, come to think of it. The water still ran warm, and Videogames, personally, likes to spend time there at the end of the day.
