John had been living with Sherlock for a year now. He had gotten quite used to the other and his...Seemingly odd routines and ways. But he never questioned it.  He knew Sherlock wasn’t a bad guy so there was no need to judge him. He had noticed though that each days sherlock spent quite a long time in the bathroom. Surely it wasn’t to perfect his hair or anything since Sherlock barely did anything to it besides showering.

John was currently sitting down on the couch, reading a newspaper. Sherlock was still in the bathroom, so John was giving him some privacy.

sherlock, each morning would struggle with his contact lenses, despite using them since he was a teenager. he had this irrational fear that he’d fuck up and hurt his eye, or someone might have switched his contact solution with something horrible that could blind him. so it was took him nearly two hours to get them in. he kept dropping them, then having to wash them off, then his hands would shake too much and he’d blink if his finger got close to his eyeball. it was i early a struggle. this time he had dropped a contact kensie and he couldn’t find it. he didn’t have a replacement either. “god damn it..” he mumbled, one side of his vision blurry since the other was already in. he didn’t have much of a problem getting them out, so he just slid the one that was already in out of his eye and put it in solution and gave up, moving from the bathroom and sighing. “morning.”

John glanced over at Sherlock when the other finally got out. “Hey Sherlock.” He said. He was silent for a moment. “You don’t slip and fall in the bathroom every day so you? You’re in there for around two hours every day.” He said

he sighed. “no, nothing like that.” he said and say in his usual chair. “it’s nothibg to worry about, really..”

John shrugged. “Well, as your friend and a doctor, you can always let me know if something is wrong and I will help you however I can.” John murmjred, watching hin

he frowned and hesitated. “i just.. i struggle to put my contacts in. it’s not a problem.” he said.

John watched him. Sherlock wore contacts? “Oh. Well if they’re a problem, don’t you have glasses as a back up?” John asked

he hesitated. “i don’t like wearing them.” he stated.

John tilted his head slightly. “Why’s that? If they help you Sherlock you should wear them. It’ll save you the trouble of contacts.” He murmjred

he sighed. “i just.. don’t like wearing them. they give me headaches.” sometimes, he really did get headaches because of them, but most of the headaches were people making fun of him.
