— a morally grey character, who's kind of sick to play. by this probably adopted. in their early to late 40s. probably has some sort of attachment disorder. depending on the age range of this character, i feel like attachment issues deprive from future lose on a child (that plot twist they probably killed but deny in their head) and so they attach onto someone younger than them that reminds them of this child that they never rlly got to have. manipulative, but good at weaseling their way into the life of others. the other one is if they are younger and in their 20s, it's more infatuations, mistaken love, believing this person can't do wrong. the blame is never on this said person, and they are convinced whatever they do is in form of "protection". never stays in one place.

was apart of this secret group that was associated with staying in the trees. their idea of the future, most of their lives were associated with living within the trees, so they've never really touched the ground or if they did, they don't remember it. as far as they are concerned, the floor ground is dangerous. this would make sense if the character were within younger-ish. late teens to early 20s. probably hung out with a bunch of rebellious children and i think either they were rebellious themselves or they wanted to 'fit in' and these kids always talked about wanting to "explore" (as some adults in the group do bc ofc they have to hunt or whatever) and so one day they sneak out and run away. i feel like their area is one of the most dangerous in terms of bandits or whatever and their fun is quick to turn into some teenage horror movie disaster, leaving this person alone. notes their life in a journal. charming. and despite everything, they're stubborn regadless

Despite all the bad in the world, I do think there are good people. And these 'people' include this family. I imagine that some kind of 'safe camps' still exist that specifically act as a safe haven for those of those who need it. I feel like these 'safe havens' are specifically by families and they communicate with each other and only take in so many people or else it could get dangerous for both family and people who are staying there. So yeah, now that this is established, I am not sure where this character lands. I see them being a father, aunt, or daughter. They were apart of these established, so that means they have some knowledge of safety, of speaking to people. What I love about this is I can go multiple ways with this and I'm thinking
a) again, knowledge in medics, in safety, and overall very fucking smart and leaderly. has habit of taking control of situations they aren't generally involved with and in this story, since they're so generous, they let in the wrong person who robs them and kills their family. i think this puts a lot of hate in their heart, makes them scared of losing another person and in this case, it'd be the badlanders. could kind of serve as their kind of backup medic or whatever

b) this is yet another morally grey character, where their intents of saving people are good, but they have other ideas in mind as well. they act as not only a mental therapist, but serves as therapy as those around his age. cheats on his wife, probably had children outside of it. has tried to stop but can't be honest enough with himself to admit that he's bored of his marriage, of his kids, of his life. i don't know if he'd go as far as accidentally get involved with the wrong person and she ends up killing his family, and if he'd go as far as to be involved. he'd be one to shield a lot of these secrets, though. if he wasn't the one to kill them, he would have lowkey established a hate for a deep-rooted hate for this person, killed them. or they ended up getting killed

c) i could also be one of the people that got taken in and the family ended up taking advantage of them and being evil so they're forced to escape and being an overall good person, is kind of made them feel guilty because they don't want to be the ones to be tainted by the evil in the world AHHH
