Kai is... complex; that is to say at the least. Seemingly, like many other of the kids, he doesn't warrant a personality beyond his religion, it’s who he is, not just on the outside, but even seemingly after stripping away the layers. To those who first meet him, he’s charismatic, as every cult leader can be. He's described as compassionate, with a goal in helping and saving his own, and although the latter is true, his upmost desire to keep them on his side is what it comes down to. His level of importance is effective  he doesn’t know the person he is, or was, without it. He can be condescending, especially to outsiders, in a way that’s almost pretentious. His underlying goals don't seem clear, especially to those who are on the outside looking in. Though there are some conflicting thoughts, he does have clear goal: to live, to be the voice of The Pastor. He is doing only as he is told, an vessel simply existing for one reason. For this reason, along with his upbringing, he's apathetic his level of apathy stems from his level of traumas from the past, along with the stress of the future. He can seem compassionate, and yes, he can be protective to his followers but when it comes to laying his life on the line for others? It’s less likely to happen. His power lives through the kids, through Abaddon, his biggest threats and he’s interested in playing white knight out of the level of praise he’d receive, not necessarily because he wants to. He doesn’t harbor the same type of emotions any normal human being does. He has a an pessimist that's hidden behind a cloak of realism, and has no trouble in moving on.
↳ Elocution in his voice his talent of public speaking is a similar talent that relates him to the others. When he’s passionate, speaks loudly, it echoes throughout the room, presents itself as wanting to say something important and when he isn’t at mass, when he isn’t speaking, his voice is quieter, cooler, collective. His face is a reflection of that most of the time, at least around his followers. His eyes are the biggest manipulator of all.
↳“The Gift†that he harbors which not only makes him think he was their first, messiah, but also that he can speak to The Pastor themselves is also an underlying illness by the term of
Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder, caused by one bad trip and his infatuation with those before him. This happened around the time he was 7 years old.
↳ Suffers from
insomnia, which contributes to emotional breakdowns that stem completely out of nowhere. This will lead to current and eventual paranoia that'll cause a swing in behavior that's far more violent and delusional than the Kai that currently exists. This will likely develop overtime as time goes on.

when these acts are described, they're described as if normal, or in an 'I did what I had to do' sort of fashion..
