BLURRYFACE is the alias of The Bishop Nico, who is considered to be the leader of The Nine Bishops. Nico is the Bishop in charge of controlling anxiety, and is easily the strongest Bishop of them all. He's in the center of the Middle Three, alongside Reisdro and Sacarver. His district is one of the darker districts to live in, his people were once confident and self-assured, now unsteady and anxiety-ridden. Nico's vessels often experience red eyes and ink-black necks and hands (often spread by Nico) during training, and once Nico's soul is set within the vessel, its eyes/neck/hands are permanently changed. Nico is ruthless, powerful, and though he believes strongly in Vialism, he doesn't really mind causing the suffering of others. He's charismatic and secretive, nobody really speaks on a casual level to Nico outside the Middle Three. He doesn't get along well with the other Bishops, his arrogance and power are just too heavy to mix outside their councils. Nico is unaware of the growing restlessness in the Bishops, as he's focused on finally controlling and training his new vessel before his current body dies.

ISAIAH is the alias of The Bishop Andre, who is believed to be the oldest of the Bishops. Andre is the Bishop in charge of controlling apathy, able to destroy and discard any kind of passion and interest in moments. Those who stay around him (and in his district) are often characterized as formerly passionate people, who have quickly stopped caring. His vessels often experience numb hands/ice or frost appearing on their hands or nose when his control is strong. Personality wise, Andre is serious, cold, and almost impossible to stir up or annoy. He has a bit of a cruel streak, his apathy towards other making him a likely candidate to force his vessel in training to kill a citizen of Dema. Andre is an ancient soul, and considers himself above the other Bishops - his impatience with the Bishops and their councils are exhausting to him, he'd much rather prefer one Bishop in charge: him. He's no fan of Nico, as the oldest, he believes he should lead. With the implementation of the districts, he feels even more frustrated, as the difficulty of controlling all of Dema goes down. He's generally uninterested in the rest of his Bishops, but considers himself on "good terms" with everyone but Nico. He would likely side with Reisdro and Sacarver to overthrow Nico, as he considers the other two less of a threat - though he's secretly trying to get the other Bishops to side with him.

NARISSA is the alias of The Bishop Listo, who is the diplomat of The Nine Bishops. Listo is in charge of controlling imagination. She has a strong control over her vessels and vessels-in-training, all her former (and current) vessel faded in color and personality before they were bonded to her (her current vessel was originally a brunette). Considered as one of the more imaginative of the Bishops, this isn't really a compliment: it's a threat. Terrible ironies occur during training, thinking ways out of traps that can cost you your eyes if you're not careful. Listo is calculative, but reasonable when it comes to her district. Her people are the creative ones, their ideas fading away the more and more they stay with her (one thing to give her: she's never used their ideas after they fade out of their passions). Listo is one of the more popular Bishops due to her diplomatic, egalitarian personality. She believes that the Bishops cannot function without the others, and so dislikes the concept of Reisdro, Andre, or Nico leading. She believes that it'd be easiest to act equally (she came up with the ideas of districts) - and so wants to overthrow Nico and the Middle Three, but only to cause a truce.

VEGAS is the alias of The Bishop Vetomo, who is known for her chaotic nature and extreme forms of training. Vetomo is the Bishop that controls rebellion. When Vetomo takes over a vessel, bruises appear along their knuckles and cheekbones, with a permanent bleeding cut on their lip.

AXEL is the alias of The Bishop Lisden, who is considered the peacemaker of The Nine Bishops. Lisden is the Bishop that controls acceptance. The people in his district are ones that have accepted that fact that they are there. When he takes control of a vessel, burn marks appear over their body that are more visible on his hands and forearms in irregular spots. His district is considered one of the most peaceful ones, not a lot of uprising happens in it and is generally very violence free. Considered to be the peacemaker of the Bishops, he is very calm and collected. He always tries to step in when the other Bishops are fighting and plays a role in bringing all of the dilemmas to rest. Axel's view on who should be the Bishops leader is a grey area. He does think that there would be a benefit from there being no leader, but in the end the decision doesn't matter to him as long as the Bishops get along.
