jesus had been spending a lot of time in alexandria since negan was killed. he was mostly there to make sure everything was ok, as rick had sort of shut down after carl's disappearance. he sighed as he moved into the gate, a bag over his shoulder that he would need to put in the food storage. he looked around, spotting daryl sat on the curb, doing something with his cross bow. he moved over, sitting next to him and fixing his beanie. "hey! did something break on your crossbow?"

Daryl had sort of stepped in as co-leader alongside Maggie and Jesus ever since Rick shut down. He wasn’t going to lie, Rick shutting down like that on them,that had been a hard blow to the group. But they were managing just well for now.

Daryl glanced up when he heard Jesus talk. He nodded. “Yeah. Just a strong that snapped, I’m replacing it.” He sai

he nodded and tilted his head, moving a bit closer to see what he was doing. "do you need a stronger string? i can go look around." he offered, looking at him.

He blinked. “Why don’t you go rest? Maggie and I will be alright without you for a bit.” He said

he smiled. “you forget i don’t have my own place here.”

He shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. You can always take one of our beds.” He said
