he nodded. “i used to hate communicating when i first joined bc i was conditioned what i had to say didn’t matter, so we just have to crack his shell.”

Emre nodded. “Yeah...I guess that’s true.” He said.

Jack had gone outside of the base. He was leaning against a fence, his eyes closed. He soon opened them again, looking over and just looking at the stars and the sky. It was sighs like this that always reminded him of home. Where he lived, he had a great view of the night sky, so just being outside at night was a form of comfort to him. He felt relaxed out here.

Gabe, after about thirty minutes, he frowned. “should i go check on him or something? i doubt he actually went to the restroom unless he’s just.. hanging out in there or some shit.”

One of the women looked over at him. Her name was Maria. “Still naive, I see Gabriel.” She murmured. “He wasn’t going to the bathroom. That was his excuse to just get out of the room. I’ve heard enough excuses to know when someone is using one.” She said

he sighed. “i’m gonna go find him.” he said and stood, moving off.

She glanced over at Gabe before sighing.

Jack hadn’t moved from the fence he was leaning on. He had his elbows resting on the railing and his hands clasped behind his head, his head bowed a bit. He looked down.

after another ten minutes, he eventually found him and moved over, leaning on the fence. “hey.” he said.

Jack jumped a bit at the sound of Gabe’s voice. He hadn’t heard him walk over. He lowered his hands, turning his head to face Gabriel. “...Hey.” He whispered

he frowned softly. “i know it’s hard getting tossed around by your superiors.” he stated. “but i’m not gonna do that. it’s not what i do.”

Jack looked him over before sighing. “...You don’t have to come tell me these things, sir. You say you won’t but...I know differently. The last group I was in, I thought I was finally going to make it. They did what they could with me. But one day they found me as a burden and sent me here. And the same will happen with you, I guarantee it.” He whispered. He then looked alway. “You should save yourself the trouble and just send me away now. I’m not fit to be in the army. I’m not sure why I ever thought I would be.” He said.
