HEATH MAVERICK VALOR
> he’s nearly always gone by his last name, valor. it started when he was in middle school and it’s just continued since then, most people don’t know his first name and assume it’s valor.
> valor’s mother, rosalicia, was born in são paulo, brazil and moved to the states at about sixteen. she then studied abroad in college back in brazil where she met his father, robert, who was from the us and also studying there. rosa helped robert in his learning of portuguese, her first language.
> they went back to the united states and had valor two years after they graduated. sadly, robert passed away when valor was only five because of an aggressive form of bone cancer.
> knows some portuguese since it was spoken a lot in his home; his mom kind of stopped when his dad died, it was too hard for her to continue.
> he was born and raised in las vegas, nevada. valor grew up around constant lights and wild nights, always finding himself in trouble.
> his mom remarried when he was about fourteen to a much older gentleman who had his own legal firm. the man, gregory, didn’t really approve of valor, valor didn’t like him all that much either, and treated him pretty badly, but rosa did nothing because the man could take care of them.
> spent a night in jail because he took the fall for one of his friends who stole some stuff from the mall and valor’s mom was out of town at the time. she goes him out the next morning, but the stepfather found out and was furious, not believing that valor actually hadn’t done it. he grounded him for three months; he was confined to his room with no phone, no friends, no car, no anything.
> started smoking at sixteen and got his first tattoo at seventeen. he did these things to defy his step dad.
> valor may have been a trouble child, but he excelled in school with ease. he had a cumulative gpa of 4.78, taking many ap classes and never getting anything lower than an a. but, because of his behavioral problems, his step dad refused to help him pay for college.
> the boy managed to get a scholarship for half of his tuition through his university and works off campus to pay his way through. he’s majoring in law and minoring in political science in hope to one day become a better attorney than his step dad and truly show him; and make his mom proud.
> works at a panera bread about twenty minutes off campus and has worked there since he started school.
> has taken upon himself to watch out for girls at parties. valor always keeps his eye out for when girls, or anyone for that matter, gets a little too drunk or someone trying to harm them in any way and he’ll step in and handle the situation.
> very moody and often times comes off as unapproachable. valor’s also quite blunt and rather hard to amuse.
> rarely is he ever seen chasing after a girl. he’s not huge on the whole relationships thing, preferring flings or one night stands, but valor’s genuinely liked a few girls and pursued them, but not many.
