[align=center][div style="background=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; font-size: 10pt; font-family:arial; text-align:justify; line-height: 130%; width: 50%"]so this is an extremely loose adoption for kit's "sisters". they were all kidnapped by vincent beaumont when the apocalypse started, as he figured he could raise them to be good bartering pieces when they were older. they were given an almost medieval childhood, going through rigorous schooling, learning domestic and "ladylike" skills such as dancing, cooking, and sewing.
they were raised in a fairly large manor house in rural mexico, though the girls had no mexican influence on their lives - vincent simply moved them there in fear of the world rebuilding and being punished for the kidnapping of them. vincent was an italian american and passed on much of the culture to the girls, regardless of their race; all speak italian, cook primarily italian food, and so on. none of the girls were ever exposed to their native cultures (irish, african, chinese, etc.) and, for the majority of their lives, just sort of assumed they were all italian.
vincent was largely emotionally abusive to the girls. he never smiled or laughed, he was quick to criticize the little things the girls did, and even had some outlandish demands, like the girls always curtsying in greeting and playing music or putting on skits as entertainment. if one of them acted out, however, he never hesitated to backhand one of them. there were a few instances in each of their lives were he got more violent, but it wasn't frequent.
three years ago, kit decided that she wanted to leave and explore the outside world, rather than living domesticated. he refused to let her, things got extremely physical, and kit in turn killed him, leaving immediately after. for the first few months, the girls stayed in, as vincent had always told them the world was dangerous and full of criminals. supplies dwindled, and eventually they made the decision, one by one, to leave.
just a few little notes:
- all the girls speak italian, some can read and write. all the girls read and write latin, but can't really speak it. there were a lot of language books/resources available in the house, and they were free to take it upon themselves to learn any other language they wanted - kit, for example, chose french.
- they never interacted with anyone but themselves and vincent growing up. naturally, this could present itself in various ways in the outside world now. perhaps they're very confident, very shy, very outgoing. the lack of basic human interaction with strangers for twenty years affected them somehow, however, and this should be apparent in some facet of their personality.
- the house itself was large, but it housed fourteen people. the girls were in rooms of three or four, and they did almost everything together, from learning to cleaning to cooking. despite their many differences, they were all best friends and tried to take care of one another.
- the oldest child, anne, will not be adopted out. she left on her own and has been trying to get kit killed, believing that kit murdered vincent in cold blood. how the rest of the children view what kit did is up to you guys - but at the end of the day, they're family, and they must either look passed or forgive kit for what she's done.
- while not significant, the girls never experienced any form of romance before leaving. for the non-ace characters, this means a lot of nights were spent fantasizing over book characters, and writing shitty fanfics of them. do what you will with this information.
- despite his abusive tendancies, i want to make it clear that vincent was a father to them. he never made any advances or anything towards any of the girls. that's not to say that he wasn't planning to sell them to people who would have done so - but he, himself, never tried anything like that.
- the girls were all renamed by vincent from their birth names, named after famous writers. feel free to gender bend, as kit was named after kit marlowe, or use last names as first names. they will be learning their birth names much later on, but at start do not know them, only that they were renamed.
- none of them may have any vivid memories of their childhood.
- kit was recently stabbed by a mercenary, hired by anne. the girls, regardless of their feelings of the situation, came to the badlands to make sure she's alright and show anne that they stand by kit.
- please keep them active, an in the badlands for a while. they're important to kit.
as for the actual adoptions, they're free for all. they're all adopted, so genetically, they can go any realistic way. however, they must be between eighteen and twenty-five years of age.
