That isn't to say that he's a pacifist, because he's not - he just won't do the dirty work himself unless it's digging his hands into a corpse and using it as a tool for study. He's a very wiry man, being 5'10'' and quite small compared to most men in TNW. He's in his mid-twenties, bordering on four when the blackout occurred, and he was raised in a family of smart people. His mother was a doctor and his father was a librarian, and they actually lived out his childhood in the library his father had worked at with a small community of neighbors, which gave him access to a plethora of books, knowledge ripe for the taking. He only left recently to join another group in pursuit of adventure and more information about the new world they live in.

Wolfgang is quite exceptionally skilled in medicine and fixing up others from his mother's teachings, and is well-versed in literature and math for someone brought up in a world severely lacking in education.

He was named Stephen Wolfgang Poe after Stephen King, Johann Wolfgang, and Edgar Allen Poe. He changed his last and middle name after leaving to pay tribute to some of his idols, and his real name is Stephen Jr. Charles Richardson, named after both his father and his late grandfather. He had four other siblings and was the youngest, which gave him lee way to shut everyone out and do his own thing. He's had no spouse or family of his own, being very awkward in the world of romance and preferring closure in text rather than the arms of someone else.

He has a very formal wardrobe, being more comfortable in a work-styled outfit, believing it keeps him on track. He often wears black gloves and brushes his hair minimally. Wolfgang likes dark colors because they bring out his strikingly pale features and highlight his dark brown eyes and hair, and it draws attention to his high, sharp features brilliantly.
