• i feel that the scientific based kingdom would really try to come to a head with what makes humanity really?? like the border b/w our humanity and all the endless possibility of ~science and i'm not sure how that would impact their behaviour as a whole bc scientists irl do get bored and play around but maybe the power they have with all their tech makes them more dangerous ?????

• my boy is prob a bit like bris in that he's pretty isolated but doesnt?? really want company bc what do u do with emotions help him he's just Serious and Quiet and only ever curious abt extending his research
  
• understands theoretically almost everything that goes on in the brain but tbh that doesnt do a darn thing when he tries dealing w other people? / too INTENSE abt things he stares from a distance and only needs to blink abt once every three minutes he just doesn't understand really others' situations .. almost creepily quiet
  
• really detached from social situations? his views on everything like sexuality and attachment is like eh  and he does still have ~Emotions but living so long in an environment solely based around going through the motions 100 times, failing 100 times, maybe making a tiny tiny breakthrough, having a fixation of the slightest of details, rinse and repeat, everything else but his research and keeping a rly frickin firm hold of his own discipline and figuring things out one by one scientifically has taken a backseat and at this point just??? faes discomfort??? hmm. must keep observing. he hardly puts much stock in the marriage itself and i cant imagine how theyd be made to interact tbh?? fae needs a hug but science char cant touch him bc sdfsjdm Get Him Clean and hes awful rly but on e day..... he'll learn..

Highly adaptable just as he is in real life; doesn’t truly connect emotionally to the experiments bc it’s the way his kingdom functions and the way science ever happens, through experimentation, but meeting Fae, coming across documentation of the experiments undertaken during the war, the true gruesomeness of Ionia, etc… Big Crisis
  
• my character looking back on all his kingdoms experiments and rly comprehending the nastiness of ppl and fhfhd their husbands teach him & fae how to deal w emotions Teach them what i s love / ig he never really would have questioned it?? only until he saw firsthand its effects bc regularly the tested specimens are so detached from the surface like only found in names and data and not even names but sometimes numbers tbh but meeting fae and rly getting to see the fruit of everything terrible his kingdom encourages - Dramatic Self Awareness and character development

uhh, yeah so all i really have so far is that he's fascinated with the effect of different plants on other organisms... mostly humans though. he's really into medicine, and figuring out what chemicals in plants can be used to help cure/prevent disease... but he is equally interested in which poisons (found in plants) can cause the most suffering, the most painful deaths. his ethics are a bit questionable tbh.... like, if a sickly person goes to him, he seems kind, as he will give them the medicine they need! but if given the opportunity... or if he knows they really won't live for much longer, no matter how much medicine they take or treatments they undergo... he'd much rather experiment on them and cut them open and whatnot because they'd be more "useful" that way... 'there's still use for the terminally ill, and that's to use them in experiments since they'll die soon anyway' is his thinking. he prolly thinks they should feel honoured that they get to sacrifice their bodies for science.

also, maybe in the future he'll become interested in animals as well, but for now his focus is plants... botany...

YES AHH HELLO I LVOE THIS MORALLY AMBIGUOUS PLANT BOY!! omg he's so interesting. im also v sorry for how much i wrote in these following paragraphs sdfkjsdf. i really like the idea that one of the scientific kingdom's defining traits, along with ofc being known for its advancement, is the fact that ppl outside are scared of how?? intense they are about wanting to break things down into little understandable bits? like i can imagine tianyous kingdom would be like "things go this way and thats p awesome!! harmony!" and bri's kingdom focused around their religion would be like "things are meant 2 be this way yk and it's all g" and fae's kingdom is like "who cares u live or u die" and so one thing that lucina & your character have in common is that they just wanna find stuff Out and Learn and tbh in the science kingdom, what are boundaries?? when it comes to learning things?
which means that they're not the most morally sound and i also think thats a rly interesting point of ~conflict~ and dang...... plant boy is twisted rIP but in this kind of environment it fundamentally makes sense!! because actually no one from science kingdom can be trusted just send them all out into space just . send them away

im not sure if my char has a specialty yet!! like idk?? would he be an inventor? experimenting w chemistry? ? psychology? what is he doin (tho i am leaning towards psychology as it would be interesting esp when he deals w his husbands and learns abt them and... but that's a sidetrack rip.) i do think that he wouldn't actually Get It when it comes to other people feeling horrified abt the experiments that go down in science kingdom because none of them actually living there have been subjected to any other thought process so @ plant boy's experiments, lucina's always simply like ... "well ok, it's research. tell me some stuff u learn when you're done." though since i imagine your char's experiments on humans would be a little more hush hush, and lucina wouldn't be privy to the specifics (unless they were scientist buds?? that would be pretty cool!), it wouldn't actually strike him much until he saw the scars it left on ppl - he's not good at heart, just kinda one-track minded, preoccupied with his own work and either way v geared to the way his kingdom thinks. i would!!! rly love to see them interacting!!!

ye, plant boy is just... like he has morals... more like had... they're prolly locked away in some dusty chamber in the back of his mind. morals... he doesn't really care much for them, tbh. he's interested in a lot of things besides plants - including the humanities... but only in the "but why do they think like that? what provokes such thoughts?? how can i find it and manipulate it? ??" type of way. as for emotions... he has them, but like lucina, they are... extremely suppressed. he probably saw them as a hindrance and forced himself to bury those too. :/ however!! he appears to display emotion... but are they genuine?? probably not. he's just a really good actor.

and ooh!! lucina's specialty could totally be psychology... or biopsychology... or both, because why not?? and... they should definitely be friends... or whatever's closest to it given that they're both pretty emotionally detached... maybe they say they're just "fond of each other's company" because they simply understand each other well, or whatever and leave it at that. and... since lucina's probably one of the higher scientists (he'd probably be one.. if they considered important enough to shove into the marriage?), he probably would know about the human experimentation.

also... i just had some thoughts about the way things work. maybe the general population could just be like normal people, like the rest of the world... probably a bit smarter than the rest of the world's population, but... yeah, by the science kingdom's standards, they're average. genetic engineering could be a huge thing in the science kingdom.. so maybe, to produce more intelligent minds, the scientists attempted to craft a gene or identified which alleles to turn on/off in order to produce individuals of higher intelligence (probably the former as that would work better for this)... and they tested the gene on animals first, before releasing the gene into the general population. they could have chosen who gets the gene... artificial selection... but artificial selection has drawbacks, such as.. i believe it decreases genetic diversity? if they could, they'd fix that, but maybe their stuff isn't advanced enough to account for the problems caused by lack of genetic diversity in a population. so until they figure that crap out.. they just release it into the general population, and by some test, they identify which individuals exhibited the greatest expression of the trait the gene coded for... lucina and my luhan char could've been some of those people who turned up with the highest/strongest results, showed the greatest expression of the traits the higher ups were looking for... yeah.

the science kingdom could seem completely like the rest of the world except for its internal structure and hidden hierarchy... and their goals, ofc. they also are probably like tianyou's kingdom in that they encourage diversity... but for completely different reasons (having a diverse population allows for more complicated, multi-faceted experiments - and it's better for the country's overall survival). gosh i hope this made sense at all... it's 3 AM smh.

definitely!! i also think it would take some form of self-centredness for almost this entire kingdom to believe that they DO have the power to reach that state of all-knowing like? in this world/society scientists do recognise their limitations, impossibilities, etc, but i imagine in ionia even then they'd keep trying to surpass whats viewed as irrational because? who else is going to push the boundaries?? they've already come so far, and as a whole the citizens would be used to having all these amazing gadgets in their day to day lives probably revamped every other year just like the iphone (sad laugh at ... the iphone x..) because the research culture in ionia is on a whole new level and ofc they resort to nefarious ends to test out whats seen as taboo in modern society like um. yeah. its for science

him being good!!!! at acting!!! i love that a lot? on the surface he'd be all smiles and compassion and then..... yep. thats probably how they all have to start living once they become functional members of the kingdom; basically the only ones that have any real sense of humanity would be the ones that have to just scrape through to live, because they see the imbalance in society and its flawed emphasis on manual evolution, and if i'm going through with this idea (which im not sure i will because it is.. rather..... cliche) then they'll also have intimate awareness of the ~purges of the lower class executed bc no one is allowed to have emotions in tech kingdom!! lucina personally wouldn't be one for putting on a facade; the only real sense of a spark that could be evoked in him is when he's curious about something, and then he'd start hounding after it to - a la science kingdom custom - unpack it fully. but other than that. idk. he's a bit of a rock? and very reclusive bc he knows he can't deal with people goodbye leave him be. he thinks so fast and too intensely that he really couldn't say anything remotely smooth for the life of him. at this point i honestly find him kind of boring ill need to, polish up his character a bit more.. weeps..

RLY, YES omg i find that a friendship between them would be so interesting because yes they're basically polar opposites. and it would just be very interesting to see them interact overall? being of the same environment, they would definitely understand one another and be able to work collaboratively at some points i would think?? maybe they were official lab partners at some point like..... we could try to do a semi-childhood friends thing omg where they split apart after pursuing their individual sciences but maybe met again because while luhan might not be in the elite team, he could still be somewhere close to it? or mb not! but at any rate yes!?!? they would totally slide e/o coffee and casually discuss findings and when lucina turns into half a zombie thats slumped over the counter your character would just start chattering abt his plants and poisons to pass the time. and sometimes pokes him w a thermometer to make sure he's breathing? and lucina would peer over your character's work and suggest improvements and sometimes they get into ~scientist arguments abt THE REAL ANSWER to certain paradoxes and help them

i definitely do like that and it would make sense!! i think its also rly worth thinking about other side effects as well, long term, because they are dealing w very delicate matters, intelligence and the like. im p sure something is going to go horribly wrong w all the people in the kingdom eventually. and the specifics of our own characters in terms of these modifications too bc most people would have had been modified in some way, so i have really been considering?? what i could give lucina? and how to slot in the inevitable defects of some of the mods they've been given. insomnia? severe migraines?? nose/ear bleeds from the strain?? and the question of if they've increased their lifespan somehow or shortened it drastically a..h.a.h.... save these kids
flashbacks to those living in the capitol in the hunger games. i'm js that ppl with technology and money would definitely invest in giving them some animal features,

yes!! i made a tiny checklist of what i should develop further for the kingdom and i was going to write about the exact structure of it and who exactly is in charge, if it should take on an individual ruler like other monarchies? ? THEY WOULD TBH SCIENCE KINGDOM IS THAT PERSON,, what you wrote definitely did make sense!! now im hoping that all,, of this does,, sobs a lot. im sorry for writing so much!!!!

SpectrumClan had been a new thing.

Sidling up into the ranks, casting a glance left then right then placidly forwards right at the border and splitting into an unabashedly wide smile for anyone that dared look and for all that approached besides. It was a new thing because it was so out of place, prodding creatures of different species together almost like some finicky god saddled with the task of grouping certain creatures decided to merely lump together whoever happened to be closest. A winged dog and a cat with curling rough horns quite clearly real on top of the larger amalgamation that one would find, normal species save with the oddest colours (Americanbeauty's pinkness wasn't subtle) and with bewildering mannerisms alike, drooling blood and vision shrouded with the addition of a cardboard box and a neat tuxedo tom that seemed only to speak in couplets. It was a new thing because no one would have thought you could bring all these beings together in one place and expect harmony. Much less than that, stagnancy - such an expansive entourage surely belied a maelstrom like a firecracker.

It didn't. Not that it wasn't a shame, but there were bigger fish to fry and some stilled horses left unkicked and Gin - smiling, slit-eyed, three-tailed and really rather pleased to do whatever his own urges brought him to do when it wasn't as though anyone was within eyesight and earshot - hardly found it difficult to string himself free from an organisation he'd never truly merged fully into, only ever having lingered around the edges with his ears flicking curiously pleasantly and his perpetual grin a constant, utterly benignly upward curl of the mouth. Friends? Did he have friends? Any regrets about leaving? Perhaps you could wager a wild guess and say that the kitsune made friends, shrewdly polite and unconcernedly sarcastic as always, analytical and carefreely devil-may-care all at once, though perhaps that would be far too left-field. One like him didn't exactly make friends easily; no one would when they discomfited more than they ever reassured, when their expression remained fix in an unsettlingly wide rictus approximately all the time.

And you would scarcely have the freedom to state that those he'd met during his stay were any more or less amenable to said camping. Koriander and Crashcourse had definitely been intriguing characters in their own right; lively and dynamic as sentient beings were, unique and undoubtedly interesting. But they had enough brains to know not to look the Gin-horse in the hugely beaming mouth, plus not to poke him too hard with a stick - such was how the ebony horned feline had stared, unimpressed and wholly unwilling to self-sacrifice just to be used as a makeshift ladder, up at him stuck in a tree, and how the latter smiled and laughed genially brightly and cheerfully proclaimed that he likely had the skill to shred Gin's tails from his being if ever the situation called for it.

Ah, Crashcourse.

He was an interesting kid. Good sense of humour, too.

And so self-assured.

One would barely be able to find anyone better at simply walking than Gin. The silver kitsune could affix his almost-closed gaze in the distance, flick his tails and simply commence plodding toward nothingness. He was more than enough company for himself; low casually bright humming and idle Gatling gun commentary. That's how it seemed, at any rate - anyone coming from some distance in any direction up to Gin would indeed only find that meeting their eyes, lion-sized fox's eyes curved cheerfully shut and plodding a neat beeline straight for his next destination. It didn't matter if the destination was nowhere, in all honesty - 'forwards' was somewhere.

And, of course, a lion-sized fox gets hungry. Has to sustain his lion-sized fox's appetite, you know. So the lion-sized fox took a single moment to scour the area with basically entirely closed eyes, three long tails weaved together and both ears pricked on wanly upbeat alert. They were then almost blown back by the force of a certain bellow projecting soundwaves basically to the other end of Earth.

"My, my," Gin noted to himself, cocking his head and grinning, "looks like I caught myself a dragon by the tail."

The mouse in question had zoomed frantically in Gin's direction a moment before, utterly struck with understandable terror with its innate instinct to run, only to veer into a different direction with another aggrieved squeak so as to avoid the very scarily smiling kitsune that had been in its intended path. As such, Gin found himself confronted with one of the very beings that just might hate his guts enough to want to stomp them out, Crashcourse clearly having been on his way to swipe and snack on it.

Gin's beam stretched further, an ear flicking in greeting and delicately planting his feet so as to merely stand whereas he'd been in the midst of taking a single step before. Why not make amends with an old pal he'd lost contact with? "Yoohoo!"

After all, Crashcourse threatening to chomp his tails off was practically an endearment, wasn't it?[/spoiler]

Nobodies are beings born from those that lost their hearts (more particularly the spiritual sort); in essence, they are still people, but are made only of body and soul with no capacity to feel emotions, which the Heart would have given, and so are only considered half an actual existence. Their lives do not begin with infancy but upon creation appear as, rather, reflections of who they used to be - on the other hand, only those with the strongest wills in the past life materialise as a human-formed Nobody retaining intelligence, past memories and possessing signature weapons while others are automatically morphed into 'malformed, barely humanoid' species. A far lesser known fact about Nobodies is that they are able to 'form hearts of their own as they become self aware.'

Nobodies have no explicit enemies, though are shunned by both Light and Darkness alike for being specifically neither and so may be attacked by anything all the same. Their most common 'enemies' would be Heartless, physical live manifestations of the darkness in peoples' hearts that target the hearts of other beings indiscriminately and rabidly (though their intelligence is questionable, as Nobodies do not have hearts). Heartless vary greatly but the most common form is a Shadow.

• born as a Nobody in Twilight Town, nameless, emotionless and purposeless

• though Axel left on a mission, so it's just Roxas and Xion (XIV's revealed name) for a while. Until Roxas falls into a coma
  
• after waking, questions the deal with Sora and what the Organization wants
  
• Xion becomes distant, as does Axel; no one is telling Roxas ANYTHING
  
• Xion leaves the Organization, so Roxas does too (though separately)
  
• Xion found in Twilight Town, who reveals that she's not a Nobody but a replica of him? She forces him to fight her by becoming a giant monster because they cannot coexist without Roxas being endangered and she knows that and sdfksdfsdll; FEELINGS
  
• holds Xion as she slowly disappears after she tells him what she discovered about Xemnas's true plans and sHEDS A TEAR but gains the ability to use double Keyblades
  
• returns to World That Never Was to go release Xemnas's project but gets intercepted by Heartless & RIKU, Sora's friend, and they fight and Riku unleashes his trap card and hauls Roxas off because he wants to use Roxas to restore Sora. ...Which really is necessary but is also distressing
  
• put in a digital simulation with fake friends and fake life to hide him from Organization XIII
  
• meets Namine, who is another Nobody but more particularly the Nobody of one of Sora's friends. She tells him that he's not supposed to exist since he's only half a person as he is at current
  
• the simulation glitches though and at the last moment Roxas learns that it was all a lie from the creator of the simulation himself, 'DiZ,' who mocks him openly and rubs in his inescapable fate
  
• faces Sora for the first time. "You're lucky. Looks like my summer vacation... is over."
  
• but even after being restored into Sora's heart, he reawakens just enough to challenge him waaay during Sora's journey just as Sora touches down in the World That Never Was; fights him first before being beaten and, at last, acknowledging Sora by saying "you make a good Other"
  
• and again, later long after this when Sora is running through the World That Never Was once more, reappears before him and tells Sora that Sora should feel everything that he's felt (good & bad memories alike); Sora protests and says that Roxas is his own person which takes him aback but Roxas only smiles and says!! "See, Sora, that's why it HAS to be you."
  
• and so takes Sora's hands in his and shares all his memories and Sora is emotionally barraged by all the memoriES that Roxas's had
  
• and when he looks back, Roxas has disappeared -
  
• until money brought him back, of course.

plot ideas
maybe if the characters have powers in their game, theyll be able to retain a very low-powered version of it later on from the managers of this maybe wanting to incite more interest while others that dont are given random ones? or, to make it more even and possibly more fun, having the doctors somehow give every character a random ability (for a short period) ? just if you think itll work, though it's definitely ok if it wont!
