maybe it was meant to be this way, maybe it had been written in the stars that this would happen, but adam didn't know. all it felt like right now was something that he had been born with: this ability, this gift, this blessing or curse or power that he had. so many things in his life were like this: a hurricane, swirling, endless power and unstability. either he felt nothing or he felt everything at once, all flashes of light and hot heat rushing through his veins, aiming to destroy him. some would say he was unstable but adam thought of it as if he were special, marked, different. unique.

his proof that his remarkable skill or talent or whatever was indeed unique? this: he had woken up almost every night with something he had taken out of his dreams. it was never just random stuff, though. he had to know it in real life, feel it and know how it interacted with the gravity around it. from memory to dream to reality.

this time, he had brought back something from his dreamscape that made him want to smile as soon as he woke up. however, considering that he couldn't move for the first few minutes after rousing himself from sleep (this only happened when he took something), it was impossible to be able to do so. however, the feeling gradually returned to his body and the male sat up on his couch, tucking the being he had brought out close to his chest.

it turned out to be a raven. a baby raven that the boy dubbed "chainsaw". it was exhilarating as always, to know that he had brought this from the world of his dreams, to know that he could bring something living from a place full of other living things. perhaps this would be a new beginning for him.

a couple hours passed by, seconds flinging themselves into minutes which then unfolded into the two hours previously mentioned. he had called aurora up, told her to get her butt over to his house ([b]"hey, will you come over? yeah, the door will be unlocked. okay, see you then. oh! ah, bring stuff for hiking? ya, i know it's almost dark but c'mon man! please? alright, sweet, see you then! bye!") since he had a plan. it was a plan to ease the restless longing in his soul, the constant need to be going somewhere else, doing something else, exploring something that wasn't just this boring town. he could feel the pulse of the ley line beneath his feet, far underground, and he knew: this would be a night for awakening, for adventures, for living.

- ronan is the middle of three sons. he has an older brother, declan, and a younger brother, matthew. ronan hates declan. their mother stopped speaking after the death of their father.

- typically when you think of a werewolf, you think of fearsome strength, uncontrollable rage, or some monster prowling the night, waiting to strike next. sam doesn't evoke any of these images.

- he's shy, but it might be because, as a wolf, he has no choice but to live in his head for so long.

- mr. dario and his two guard dogs moved into a house 75 acres away from beck's house, being sam's closest neighbour as he grew up. mr. dario owned his two pure white guard dogs to protect his antique business ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ "drugs", says beck. both dogs were fitted with electric collars so they were shocked if they moved outside mr. dario's property, the charge was measured from a small black box that left powdery black paint on the hands of whoever touched it. sam was so worried about the dogs that he asked beck to teach him how to kill them, they practiced breaking bones at the joint with dead chickens and watched dog fights. later, the dogs were released by a pack member named shelby, who was spotted by sam with the black powder on her hands, and they attacked paul (the alpha male whenever they were all wolves), almost killing him before sam stepped in, killing one dog and keeping the other away from paul before beck ran out to shoot the other dog.
- he's really scared of houses with lots of windows and will refuse to be alone in a house by himself.
- he's terrified of being by himself at night and avoids going outside or near windows at night.
