Hm, I'm not exactly sure, but wouldn't it be odd if she found him 'visiting' his dead sister which (oops) he hasn't buried her yet

omg, idea: If Fare responds kindly to the whole corpse thing, then maybe Ruben is somehow reminded of Laura (his sister) with her? That would give him, in his mind, an A++ reason to follow her around & crap, and maybe it gets so bad that he mixes up the two?? Omg, I'm sorry, but I love drama
