he made a noise as he heard footsteps drawing closer to his door.

Richie blinked and looked up, tensing slightly. His arms around the other tightened a bit, and he frowned. He guessed it was only Eddie's Mom, but that could also be bad, considering she didn't trust any of the kids with Eddie, least of all Richie.

it was, indeed, his mother, coming to ask eddie a question about something, but paused when she saw the two. "what are you doing?"

He blinked and frowned a little bit, saying quietly as he continued to hold Eddie close, giving the older woman a challenging look, "Eds has been having trouble sleeping, so I was trying to help."

[dannychan]

she blinked and sighed. "well.. thank you.. he's been climbing in bed with me in the middle of the night.."

[peridot.]

He blinked and relaxed slightly, letting out a soft breath and nodded, mumbling softly, "He's been... having bad dreams lately."

[dannychan]

she sighed. "i know, and i can't seem to figure out why.."

[peridot.]

He winced a little bit and sighed. It wasn't like he could just tell her about Pennywise. It was too dangerous, and most adults didn't believe them anyways, so instead he just pet Eddie's hair softly, saying quietly, "I think he's just stressed out lately. School and stuff.."

[dannychan]

she crossed her arms and scowled. "it seems much worse than stressed. he's always looking over his shoulder and takes two hour long showers.."

Richie smiled a bit when the other finally fell asleep, and he continued his humming, dragging his fingers gently through the other's hair. His thoughts were racing, but they usually did when he was close to Eddie.
