The greenhouse was steamy. He'd been watering the seedlings carefully, worried of washing them out of their little plastic containers. A lot of them had holes in them--more than they were meant to--but they still did their job. So far, they had asparagus, mint, and carrots. A few others were stored, not yet planted. He was being cautious, but thanks to the few books they had on gardening, the carrots should be okay. He wasn't certain about the mint, but for now they had nothing to transfer plants into outside of the greenhouse; this was mainly an experiment.
It was large enough for maybe three people to squeeze in and work with the shelves of planters; the box of seed packs and a small bag of fertilizer was stored in here, along with a few of the gardening books. And....a magazine or two that Johannes had snuck in there. They were not particularly good, but one had pictures of nice houses and gorgeous gardens, so he liked to look at it while he was...using the greenhouse to hide. From everyone.
At least now he was actually working.

As much as he hated working in the greenhouse for the reminders of the farm the plants inevitably brought up, but from what he could tell he was one of the only people that knew anything about plants, so he popped in every now and then.
He'd usually leave if he saw anyone else in there, and today was no different in that aspect. However, this time, as he turned around he bumped into one of the planters, knocking it over. He caught it before it hit the ground, but as it had been falling he'd let out a "shit". So much for a stealthy exit.

The dictator spun, the noise startling him as his eyes searched for the noise. Gray? Jesus--the guy was everywhere. What had he been doing in the greenhouse, had he been there long? Had he been watching him? Johannes was frowning, staring after the teen as he replaced the planter. Johannes was carefully watering the carrots, though he quickly had to tip the can up before it overflowed. His eyes narrowed a bit--it almost felt like he was being spied on. He didn't like it one bit, but he also didn't really want to call Gray back in here. It was still a bit painful to look at him.

Gray hadn't been hiding in a corner or anything, he'd been coming in, saw Johannes, turned to leave, and knocked over the stupid planter. Now the Dictator was alerted to his presence, which would make his exit more awkward but all the more necessary. Especially as more people started crowding in, making the already tight space even more cramped. He tried to get past, pausing in the hall to take a deep breath. He winced, realizing he'd ignored J, but unable to make himself go back in. Too crowded. Too close. No where to go. He couldn't do that.

Johannes ignored Gray. What else was he gonna do? Call him back in here? Hah. He nodded to J. "Yes. Sort of." He gave a bit of a shrug to his question, before realizing J wanted...a pinky promise. Oh. It repulsed him--he actually moved back a bit, but..it was. Just a pinky. He didn't want to see those eyes well up or something--so he extended his hand, quickly hooking J's pinky and releaing, quick to bury his hands in the dirt of a potting soil bag and let it erase the sensation of touching the other man.
